I don't mind them, to me they are more of a holiday read if you get my drift.

I have read quite a few and have a couple on my shelf. They are books to read when you don't want to concentrate much :)

Boris, they are great for reading if you are on the beach and want to check out the "flesh of the day"

I love Jackie's books!
I've read loads of her books and I've got her book "lovers and players" and that's a great book to read.

I'm now reading her latest title it's called "Drop dead beautiful" this is Jackie's 25th book, it's the ususal kind of sex lust and LA glamour that we all read in Jackie's novel's.
As always Jackie is in form,

I drifted away from her books a few years ago...if you think about it, her sex scenes aren't even that sexy, very perfunctory. Maybe I'm just a pervert!
Fun beach reads though, I suppose.

Yeah, I stopped reading these quite a few years ago too.
But for those of you who love her, you should try the first book of that type 'The Valley of the Dolls' by Jacqueline Susann - it's excellent. Or for a similar read but maybe a little 'better' 'Princess Daisy' by Judith Krantz. There's a scene in that I can still remember clearly despite reading it when it was first published around 25 years ago

I've read VotD twice and I loves it. Bliddy perfect example of the birth of the sex-and-shopping genre.
Thanks for reminding me, ~V~ - I might add that to my 'favourite books' list. Not often that a novel gets added. One a year or so, if that!

Jackie Collins is one of my favorite authors. It's a guilty pleasure... totally mindless entertainment. I have every single one of her books (the only author I can say this about) except the newest, "Married Lovers" -- and only because it's not out in paperback yet. I would love to find an online book club dedicated to Jackie Collins' books but have not been able to do so yet.

Her books are raw and kinda raunchy but I think most readers know they're getting that when they pick one up. There are most def other romance authors who write sex with more panache. Alas, the subjectivity of it all!

I love her books when I want a 'brain break'.
I often wonder if they're really written by her though. Some of the language that's used... I can't imagine coming out of her mouth - she seems so straight laced!

I haven't read a Jackie Collins book in years although when I was in Waterstones last week I almost lifed one and bought it but swapped it for a Karin Slaughter book instead!
