We thought we'd give the themed reading circle a try for the October Reading Circle, so I thought I'd set up a quick poll to see which theme came out tops, then next month, we can start the nominations as usual.

The four themes we have for you to choose from this time are:

1. Classics (since this seemed to be a popular idea with a wide range from which to choose).
2. Thrills & Chills (seeing as it'll be October & almost Halloween - could be horror or psychological thriller, it's got al ot of scope!)
3. Crime (fact or fiction - always a popular choice)
4. Around the World (foreign authors, travel theme, or set in another country)

We've already compiled quite a long list of potential themes for future reading circles, but if you'd like to suggest a few, please feel free to do so! in the meantime, cast your votes for one of the above themes - the poll will remain open for 7 days, after which it will automatically close, then nominations for the October reading circle on the chosen theme will begin.

I never read thrillers because I find them scary. :(

I have voted for this however because it is good to try something different every now and then and because it is Halloween.

... it is good to try something different every now and then ...
And that's exactly what a reading circle should be about. :)

Having just read and enjoyed 'The Kite Runner', I voted for around the world. I'm in a minority too, Jules.

A difficult choice. I have been thinking about reading some crime because it used to be my fave genre as a youngster, but have also thought about around the world type books, and...

Thrillers, which I have voted for as, I have never read one and would love too, so as it is that time of year..

I have voted for a classic, as unless they are by Dickens or Jane Austen I tend to avoid them, so it would be good for me. I don't mind if Thrills and Chills wins though!
