The PO are changing to Pricing In Proportion (http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/content2?catId=400105&mediaId=21100324) - click the link to find out more, plus you can order a free size guide. That might be worth getting now before this becomes better knowledge, and everyone wants one!

I'm drawing attention to this again, as it's close. Did everyone get their free guide in the post? News article here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/5233996.stm

The post that will suffer will be larger, light objects. So whilst hardback books may prove cheaper, paperbacks, CDs DVDs etc will get more expensive. I've seen someone test is out on the RISI forum, and every paperbook book she was sending was going to cost more!

Will this put you off buying, selling and swapping at all?

I do think it's rediculous because for the increase we get no more assurances our post will arrive a) at all b) on time and c) in tact. But what can we do about it, not a lot really. It won't put me off swapping but it will make me grumble a bit more everytime i see the prices :)

It won't put me off swapping - the way I see it, Im' still gettnig a good book very cheapl;y if Im' only paying the postage on the book I send in return - often the books are as new, so it's much cheaper than buying in the shops too.

I think it'll affect ebay sellers more.. books become even less of a bargain on their if you have to pay out more postage. As a seller, by the time you pay out all the fees, I don't think it'll be worth it.

The same will probably go for childrens clothes, thinking about it. They can be bulky, so the postage will go up.. sigh!
