Coffin Nail
Got whinged at at work today by a customer (a middle aged GP) who objected to paying 40p for the salad on his sandwich. Salad consists of lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, egg, onion and beetroot. They can have any combination. I don't think that 40p is excessive, but GP wasn't impressed. This was the first complaint about price. What do you think??
pickle
I think...wow thats cheap, I also think where does he shop that its cheaper than that? even lettuce on its own is about 70-80p (thats iceberg and it goes up when out of season)
Univerze
I think that's cheap too.. 40p is practically nothing, No way you'd get that cheaper anywhere else, try even making it yourself up like that, it would cost you more. But customers always have something to complain. Trust me, I work in a supermarket.
Michelle
Be gentle on the poor GP - don't you know that they're hard up!? (Well, that's what we always get told when we want a pay rise or equipment!)
Coffin Nail
40p for salad that mega cheap. Most place would charge at least £1 How much was the sandwich? Was it an add on the Salad? It was a cheese savoury £1.80 + 40p for the salad. Perhaps he hasn't bought a sandwich since 1972.
Talisman
It seems not - sandwich shops didn't exist back then anyway (so I am told, I was only 7!). I think it's cheap too - don't know what he's complaining about !
Ooshie
It sounds cheap to me, I would be delighted if I could get a sandwich like that for that price around here!
Stephanie2008
It sounds cheap to me too. I had to pay £3 for a "normal" cheese sandwich at uni
Lucybird
Sounds cheap ti me too, although I wouldn't be expecting to pay for salad as an add on, if I wanted salad I would buy a sandwich that included it.
Nicola
I agree with everyone else....40p is super cheap. I pay about 60p for extra salad at the sandwich shop close to my office and that only icludes lettuce, tomato and cucumber. Bargain!!
