It always makes me smile when I hear the book title 'Howls Moving Castle'.......for some reaon I just find it a funny name. Anyway, pleased you enjoyed it. What's it about?

How is Castle in the Air so far? I read Howl's Moving Castle are really enjoyed it. I just recently got a copy of Castle in the Air but had to put it on hold for a bit to read other stuff. I heard that the main characters from Howl's Moving Castle aren't really in Castle in the Air. Is that true?

Hello,

How are you?

Thanks for replying.

I have only read a few chapters of 'Castle in the air', which is just as funny as 'Howl's Moving Castle', no sign of Howl, Sophie, Calcifer as yet.

Ooooh, I loved Memoirs of a Geisha.

I don't mean to seem rude, but is the Diana Wynne Jones book aimed at teenagers, or does she write for adults too?

I'm good thanks. You?

I've just bought 'The Ruby in the Smoke' by Phillip Pullman. I've not read any of his before, but it's going to be on TV at Christmas, so I wanted to read the book first.

I think my son has a DWJ book upstairs - I'll have to check her out.

Sometimes it's lovely to read books aimed at kids.

I think so too, its good to step away and dream a little, remind us of what it was like to be kid...

Oh you poor thing. Sorry to hear you are under the weather, especially after you had such a great day at the shops yesterday. By the way, did Mr Gyre get his bike today?

Bagpuss, when you've read the book, watch the film (Ghibly Studios). It's brilliant. Japanese anime. Unfortunately I did things the other way round, not realising there was a book, but from Gyre's enthusiasm, I don't think I will be disappointed.

I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed Castle in the Air. I've just started to read my copy of that book yesterday. Diana Wynne Jones is really a wonderful author. I've only just discovered her during the summer and have managed to read a few of her books so far. Have you read any of the Chrestomanci books? I enjoyed the ones of the Chrestomanci series that I have read so far. What's great about DWJ is that even though her books are meant for children and young adults, I can still enjoy them just as much as the target age group. Her writing is so imaginative and original. She's such an excellent writer!
