Hi

I have the book Watership down by Ryan Adams and I am wanting to sell it to see how much it is worth, however!

I have discovered that this book has the first ever front cover and was printed as it says around the year of 1974 - 1976.

I am not allowed to post a link sorry of the picture :smile2:.

It is in practically perfect condition; all of the pages; except for a slight rip on the very very far left of the front which does no harm to the book at all. In the front over (when you turn the page) someone has written the date of 1976 also. I have searched on Amazon and none of them happen to have the same front cover as I do (Im sure some do but i havn't found them) and the some are dated around 1980 and have been going for roughly

Watership Down by Richard Adams was first published in 1972, and from your description, it sounds as though you have a paper back edition, but the original first editions were hardback. If you have a genuine first edition hardback with a dust cover in perfect condition, you would have one of 2500 of the first print run, but if you have a paperback from 1974 to 1976, you have a later edition which sold upto a million copies.

If you google rather than use amazon "Watership Down first edition" you'll get a list of specialist rare book sellers who have plenty of different early editions with pictures of the covers so you'll be able to see how much you might get for the copy you have.
