Chicken drumsticks, parsnip, apple and onion bake, a Jamie Oliver recipe (except he used sausages). Surprisingly yummy :character0104:

Oooh that sounds nice! I love roasted parsnips.

I'm having cod with my lockdown discovery (because they were substituted for normal hash browns on my food order) - cauliflower hash browns.

I may have discovered M&S Baby Charlotte Potato Salad.

I may have eaten about half the pot, already this evening.

I don't think the rest is going to last much longer...

Your share would have been much smaller f I were there. I love potato salad although I haven't the slightest idea what M%S Baby Charlotte is.

M&S is the shop, Charlotte is a type of potato, and these were small ones, hence the baby!

We had Kuku Sabzi, which is an Iranian dish, made (In the recipe I have) of Swiss chard, leeks, an abundance of soft herbs - today it was parsley, dill, chives, tarragon and mint - and eggs. Cooked like a frittata, but it has a greater proportion of filling to egg than usual in a frittata. Served with flatbreads, and a tomato and cucumber salad, and followed with a rhubarb crumble.

Chard, herbs, tomatoes, cucumber & rhubarb all home grown. My leeks are a late variety, so not ready for pulling yet.

I've actually never tried potato salad. I really like potatoes cold, but I've never really liked mayonnaise, so I've always just assumed I won't like it!

That sounds amazing and extremely healthy! Rhubarb is something I would like to grow, my nan used to grow lovely rhubarb. I actually prefer it raw to cooked in a crumble though!

I went to see my parents and had fish and chips tonight, which was lovely :)

Milk chocolate biscuits are so insipid.

:o. This should be in the debating section :giggle2:. Which ones?? I love milk chocolate digestive biscuits. Especially if you take two, place them together with the chocolate side facing in, then dip them in tea so you end up with a melted chocolate middle. Yum. Now I want biscuits...

Mcvities Victoria; got given a box in a Christmas hamper from work.  Ordinary biscuits, poor chocolate.

Plain chocolate Hob Nobs are so much better!

Okay, that's fair. I trust your biscuit judgement again .

I had beef stew for dinner and it was delicious. I had a second bowl. Comforting and used up all the leftover vegetables.

always believing the milk chocolate ones to be inferior, because that's what my Dad always said :D

Was it so he could eat all the milk chocolate ones?

I had blancmange yesterday for the first time in years. It was lovely!

I have 2 squares of Dark chocolate every evening after dinner. I usually have the 85 % chocolate.

I love dark chocolate too but on its own, the way you eat it, not on biscuits. Still agree with Andreas’ milk chocolate biscuit preference!

Started cooking waaaaay too late again tonight. Currently have a piece of brisket in the over that will be out at 22:45!

Yay! Managed to turn the oven off last time I turned the brisket, so it will be even later now! (think this is fast becoming tomorrow night's meal!)

Oh dear… beans on toast and a nice slow cooked brisket for tomorrow?

I once put my dinner in the oven, came back absolutely expecting it to be done, and discovered that the wall switch hadn’t been on so literally no cooking had been achieved… if that makes you feel better

Just divided it up (it didn't need cutting!) and managed three good sized portions; one for tomorrow, and two for a later date.

Tastes pretty good, too!

At least it was worth it in the end then

I had a bit of a rubbish morning, which included the sink being blocked, so decided to just order a burger king meal to eat at lunch... they forgot the burger. Really not my day so far!

Chips were still nice though, looking on the bright side.
