Aw hope your mojo picks up again soon Cookie Up to chapter 25 of Cold Granite, what a damn good read. I never thought such a gruesome topic could provide such an entertaining read. Probably one of the best books I've read.Jim It's the start of a great series too Jim, glad you enjoyed it so much I finished Circus of the Damned by Laurell K Hamilton, very enjoyable read and will definately be getting the rest of the series. I've also nearly finished Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione, a series this time about demons and other supes, pretty enjoyable too, something similar to the J R Ward series. You should carry Perdido Street Station around with you everywhere, just in case. I zipped right through The Silver Swan by Benjamin Black over the weekend, terrific writer, one of these days I'm going to have to try one of his literary works as John Banville. I've only read one of Banville's novels, The Book of Evidence, and I thought it was absolutely brilliant. I read some of Portrait of Mr W.H. last night and started The Book Thief - Markus Zuzak as some light relief, although light is probably not how you would describe a book set in Nazi Germany and narrated by Death himself. Couldn't resist starting Burned during my lunch break, and am 70 pages in already I don't think I'll be able to put it down this evening once I pick it up, so making sure I catch up with all the goings on here first! I have no idea where the story is heading but I'm happy to be reading it (Anyone who's reading the novel: In the second Galinda chapter (starting from page 86 in my edition), what does Galinda call Elphaba when E is reading her books and not noticing anything else? A post-apocalyptic novel that tries really hard, and for the most part succeeds, although it is written in somewhat of a dry tone. I suppose that dryness, or distance is necessary, otherwise it could have become a real tear jerker of a story. No happy endings here. Not sure what I'll pick up next.
