She was haunting a house in the modern day but i think she was victorian. This is all i remember, not much to go on, but hopefully it might jog someones memory! thanks for reading. pickle Posted February 9, 2010 Share Posted February 9, 2010 I spent ages thinking about this at work today ( it was a slow day) and i remember i book i read as a child in the 70's about a girl who went to live in a victorian house she may have been adopted or been orphaned and living with aunt and uncle but they live in a messy house and she is very self contained then she met a girl who played with her but in fact she wanted to take the girl back into the victorian period and wasn't very nice in the end she decided to stay in modern time..is this similar.. can't remember the title though sorry!!!! in my defence it may have been over 30 years ago i read it!!
