Hehe, puppies *Starts laughing like a little child*

I was going to quote your TBR and edit the ones I wanted to talk about but I thought I would start getting grey by the time I finished so I decided that I would talk about the ones I remember.

First off if you like the Val McDermid book (Wire in the blood) let me know I have some spare copies of the Tony Hill series. They have been read so may not be in the bst condition, if you don't mind that. Let me know and I will post it to you when the kids have gone back to school.

As for Mo Hayder, I have a few of her books on my TBR lump, I thought I had this one but I can't seem to find it on there. I did however find my Birdman book by her that I got for Christmas.

Another one for you wishlist might be the books by Kerley starting with the Hundredth man. I could not see it on your list and I honestly think you would like them.

I also noticed you have my favourite book of all time on your TBR To Kil a Mockingbird. Fantastic.

Also don't forget your Genisis by Karen slaughter :D:roll:

Dear God I could talk about your 2010 reads all day!

Aww that's real nice of you CW :D I don't mind used copies since I buy most of my books secondhand. I'll let you know how I felt about the book when I've read it :D

Have you ever read any of her books? I haven't, but I've heard so much about them I had to buy some so I could read them. I've some how gotten the impression that her books are really sick and gory, so I'm thinking that one either loves or hates the books. Correct me people if I'm wrong!

I've heard about Kerley a couple of times and wondered if I should include him on my list, I suppose I'll have to now :D Thanks for the tip!

You're right, I need to add that book! Also have to add Fractured, but I've already ordered the book so I'll rather wait till I get it and put it on the TBR list than add it to my wishlisht and then switch it to TBR.

Dear God I could talk about your 2010 reads all day!

You can go ahead, I don't mind! I'd like it very much :D

I've read one Mo Hayder book - Pig Island, and it was terrible. It had the potential to be great but it went completely off the wall. Gore and graphic writing doesn't bother me - though there was plenty of that - the story was just a bit ridiculous.

Having said that, I'd probably read another book or two by her before dismissing her completely, she may be a 'hit or miss' author in that some books are great and some are terrible. Up to the point where ridicule set in, it was a rivetting read.

- Armstrong, Kelley: Bitten (BCF)

- Armstrong, Kelley: Exit Strategy (BCF)

- Armstrong, Kelley: Haunted (BCF)

10) Armstrong, Kelley: Stolen (BCF)

I'm so pleased to see you have some Kelley Armstrong on your TBR list - she's one of my favourite authors. I will say, however, her Women of the Otherworld series are definitely best read in publication order as there are story arcs that cross between the books and the character development etc. Also, certain elements of earlier books may well be ruined for you if you read the later ones ahead of them (MAJOR spoilers there). Therefore I would highly recommend reading them in the following order:

1. Bitten (werewolves)

2. Stolen (werewolves)

3. Dime Store Magic (witches/sorcerers)

4. Industrial Magic (witches/sorcerers)

5. Haunted (ghosts/spirits)

6. Broken (werewolves)

7. No Humans Involved (necromancer)

8. Personal Demon (half-demon)

9. Living With the Dead (half-demon)

10. Frostbitten (werewolves)

11. Waking the Witch (witches) (published later this year)

There are other supernaturals involved in all the books except the first one, but I've put in brackets the main contenders). Expect werewolves, vampires, witches, sorcerers, half-demons, spirits, necromancers and shape-shifters along the way. It's a great series.

The other series are:

Nadia Stafford:

1. Exit Strategy

2. Made to be Broken

Darkest Powers (YA):

1. The Awakening

2. The Summoning

3. The Reckoning (published later this year)

The Nadia Stafford books are set firmly in "real life" with no supernaturals. The Darkest Powers books are set in the same "universe" as the Women of the Otherworld series, but feature different, younger characters (almost all teen). They're all incredibly good too.

Happy reading! :)

Hmph, not exactly what I wanted to hear =/ I'll try and remember to keep this in mind when reading the book, and just hope that I don't mind the ridiculous stuff ;) Nollaig do you think that you'll be reading another book by her anytime soon? I'd like to hear what you thought of your second Hayder experience if you do. Also, other people's thoughts on Mo Hayder would be welcome! I think I might bump her books up on my reading list.

I think it was Charm initially who got me interested in the series but I know that loads of people on here have enjoyed the series, you being the first to come forth with the books. It's been like a snowball effect, I love how it gets sometimes like that on this forum :)

Now, I did know that the series needs to be read in the correct order. The books were on my TBR list just in alphabetical order. I think I bought Haunted first because I happened to see it in a seconhand bookshop, and I really pondered and pondered whether to get it because it's the 5th novel in the series. Then I figured it was cheap and I'd get the other books eventually at some point so why not. After that I ordered Bitten and Stolen online, I just haven't gotten around to reading them yet. Oh and Exit Strategy was just something I picked up in a bookstore and the blurb sounded so interesting I just had to buy it :D But thank you anyway Kell for listing the books in the correct order, now I have a place where to check it out whenever :D Kell you've read The Darkest Powers -series as well but have you read the Nadia Stafford ones?

I've read ALL the books by Kelley Armstrong and can honestly say you have a mojor treat coming.

And I am very proud of the amount of people I seem to have infected with Kelley-Armstrong-itis! Now I just hope to do the same with the works of Gerald Brom (a spontaneous outbreak of Brom-itis would be wonderful!). I've started with Paula - I know she's hooked already - LOL!

Haa ;) I think it's a good way to start, if I'm not mistaken she was one of the first people to read the Armstrong books after you'd recommended them and she's done some campaigning herself. So let's see how it goes this time :D

I'm excited to see Armstrong on your list too, Frankie! And if Kell started Paula and Charm on Armstrong, then I have Kell to thank too since they recommended her to me and I'm definitely hooked ;). I loved the first two books, and am already about 50 pages into book #3 and am really excited about it :).
