I actually like the Dirk Gently series more than the Hitchhiker's series, and it only comprises 2 books. But yeah, reading them both together is a fun experience. poppyshake Posted February 24, 2010 Share Posted February 24, 2010 'The Wrong Boy' by Willy Russell ... hilarious (you don't have to be a fan of 'The Smiths' to enjoy it but it helps). It's a bit sad in places but no more so than Adrian Mole, Raymond is a misunderstood teenager who pours out all his woes and frustrations in letters to his hero Morrissey. Full of Russell's wit as seen previously in his other works 'Educating Rita' and 'Shirley Valentine' etc Also I'd second (or fourth, fifth or sixth) a lot of other recommendations ..
