Raven Posted February 6, 2010 Share Posted February 6, 2010 Casino Royale I'm in two minds about this, there were some very Bond moments in the film, but it kind of went off the rails about half-way through and never really recovered. I'm also not sure what it was all about! (I know Quantum of Solace picks up where this left off, so I think I will have to watch it to make sense of this, but really, you shouldn't have to make a sequel to explain the previous film!). Craig made a good, ruthless Bond though, and I can certainly see why the film was so popular with the ladies! (how many times did we see him without a shirt on?!). But in the end I bought it. I needed a Malcolm Tucker fix. The show can't put a foot wrong for me. A brilliantly written, perfectly cast and performed joyarama. I have Malcolm Tucker as my laptop wallpaper and in all probability he'll be my next avatar....or Barton Fink....or Travis Bickle. In the loop is an 8.5.....In the Thick of It is a 10. Not sure the film was totally successful, but the television version is brilliant. I obviously can't quote it here, but there is some genuinely inventive uses of swearing (that are now regularly used in our house ). Peter Capaldi is magnificent as Malcolm Tucker. God bless Casino Royale I've eventually seen the last few episodes of The Tudors Season 3. Can't wait for season 4 and my favourite Queen, Katherine Howard, to unleash herself upon us. I couldn't help it; I've been wanting to watch it so badly since I started reading the book. I won't watch the second half until I've finished the book though. I watched this at the cinema and came out feeling really sick! I think it was the jerky camera movements - I daren't watch 'The Blair Witch Project as I might actually be sick!
