I think I am going to watch 'The Running Man' in a bit, another classic! It's based on Stephen King's short story too.

Stone Reader

Documentary about an author who gets rave reviews for his first novel in 1972, and then is never to be heard from again. Something happened, and when we find him, 30 years after, he turns out to be quite a character. An ode to the magic of reading (and writing) books.

Casino Royale

I'm in two minds about this, there were some very Bond moments in the film, but it kind of went off the rails about half-way through and never really recovered.

I'm also not sure what it was all about! (I know Quantum of Solace picks up where this left off, so I think I will have to watch it to make sense of this, but really, you shouldn't have to make a sequel to explain the previous film!).

Craig made a good, ruthless Bond though, and I can certainly see why the film was so popular with the ladies! (how many times did we see him without a shirt on?!). Special marks for Judi Dench, she was excellent, as always!

In the Loop.

Not for the easily offended.

I thought I'd get bought this at Christmas, I dropped enough hints!!! But in the end I bought it.

I needed a Malcolm Tucker fix. The show can't put a foot wrong for me. A brilliantly written, perfectly cast and performed joyarama.

I have Malcolm Tucker as my laptop wallpaper and in all probability he'll be my next avatar....or Barton Fink....or Travis Bickle.

In the loop is an 8.5.....In the Thick of It is a 10.

I completely agree. Not sure the film was totally successful, but the television version is brilliant. I obviously can't quote it here, but there is some genuinely inventive uses of swearing (that are now regularly used in our house :friends0:). Peter Capaldi is magnificent as Malcolm Tucker.

God bless Casino Royale :friends0:

I've eventually seen the last few episodes of The Tudors Season 3. Can't wait for season 4 and my favourite Queen, Katherine Howard, to unleash herself upon us.

Love that film

"I'll be back"

"Only in a rerun"

What about:

''Hey lighthead, hey christmas tree!''

or

''Subzero... now.. plain zero!''

I watched the first half of Gone with the Wind. I couldn't help it; I've been wanting to watch it so badly since I started reading the book. I won't watch the second half until I've finished the book though. It's really true to the novel, but the character of Ashley isn't really as I imagined him.

Cloverfield

Better than I was expecting it to be; a good update of the old 50's B-movies.

I watched this at the cinema and came out feeling really sick!

I think it was the jerky camera movements - I daren't watch 'The Blair Witch Project as I might actually be sick!

I might have to read the book now! I never realised it was actually based on a book until I read it on here.

Good film though, bit strange given the subject and almost funny in some parts but good film all the same.

Yeah, I had a few spinny head moments, but that may have been the wine . . .
