I've not read any of your Steinbeck or Hemingway choices. My Steinbeck is limited to the obvious Grapes of Wrath, Mice and Men, Tortilla Flat and Cannery Row. All of which are great, of course. I think Stewart's been reading Steinbeck this year.

May I recommend Sweet Thursday. It is a continuation of the Tortilla Flat and Cannery Row books. It is not quite as good as the previous two but is still worth reading. One of my favorite Steinbeck's is The Moon Is Down. It is a powerful book, an easy read, and I still think about it frequently. At some point I wil go back and re-read it.

I didn't spot The Old Man And The Sea in there. I've read that, too. Along with, obviously, For Whom The Bell Tolls. I can hardly remember either of them, though, having read them so long ago.

Actually, I am re-reading some of the Hemingway books. Like you, I kinda forgot what they were all about. Old man And The Sea, I believe was my first reading of the book. Whatever, it is one of my favorites and I really loved the book.

Has "anyone" read any of the books on my list or am I a misfit. :(

I've read Wyrd Sisters (one of my favourite Pratchetts), The Red Pony (in Year 8 at school - really enjoyed it, possiby one of the reasons I was so disappointed with Of Mice and Men which I studied for GCSE!), and The Eyre Affair which is one of my favourite books ever.

Not a complete misfit then, worry not muggle not!

I've read all Pratchett's books - I'm a huge fan of his. I've also read a couple of Steinbecks, but not the ones on your list - LOL!

I'm currently reading The Big Over Easy by Jasper Fforde - it's the first one of his I've read & I'm really enjoying it. I'd love to hear what you thought of the Ffordes you've read (although yiou've obviously enjoyed them enough to read more - LOL!).

I really enjoyed the Fforde's that I read. All of those that I have read are from his series about "Thursday Next" and should be read in the order that I have posted in the author topic on Jasper Fforde. I strongly recommend that you try the Thursday Next series, Thursday has really grown on me and she is quite the character.

You're a total misfit. You probably give anonymously to charity, are kind to others, love Sophia's legs, and like to drink wine that's on sale too. What the hell's wrong with you anyways? :)
