Which one/s were your favourites Michael?.

You're right, I haven't heard of any of the one's in black .. except Dick Francis. I've heard lots about Jodi Picoult and see her books everywhere but haven't read any yet.

Oh, that is so hard!

Salem Falls was good, Midsummer Nights Death & Prove Yourself a Hero, too, but probably - For Kicks, Dick Francis < He is an amazing author, and this book was written in the 60's (I think) ! It definelty proves something, old books can be just as good as the new ones.

I've read a couple of K M Peyton's Flambards series but I haven't heard of the ones you listed above.

I read copious amounts of Dick Francis books when I was in my late teens/early 20s! Proof was the first one of his I read (and the only one I kept - I might re-read it one day!). Even though I'm not in the least bit interested in horseracing, they're good, fast paced thrillers, if a bit samey in places. :D

Yeah, I've read Flambards, but Blind Beauty is the best! I recommend that one, alot.

And yeah, you don't have to be mad on Horse Racing to like Dick Francis, as Proof is based more on wine-selling than Horse Racing.
