I don't have any real interest in football but my boyfriend (a massive footy fan) says it should read like this:

1) Bobby Moore

2) Geoff Hurst

3) Gordon Banks

4) Paul Gasgoine

5) Chris Waddle

Hope I have spelt their names right!

I have seen a lot of interviews with Gazza recently and he really seems to be getting back on track which I'm really pleased with. Good for him!

In my humble opinion (And I looked at English, rather than British) and only based on players I SAW play (on TV):

1. Beckham

2. Gasgoine

3. Rooney

4. Keegan

5. Ferdinand

If I could look at British players though:

1. Giggs

2. Becks

3. Gasgoine

4. Rooney

5. Keegan

I know this an old thread, but I just thought I would post that my number one is Wayne Rooney. He is gold for Man U.
