Janet
Good luck with this. I don't actively avoid longer books, but I think sub-consciously I must do as I haven't read many books of over 500 pages!
Charm
Good Luck Heather! I'm reading The Historian at the min and its over 700 pages. The size of a book never really put me off, in fact, if it was by a favourite author I would think 'great! a good long one!' and usually if I finished a book which I enjoyed I would often be irritated by the fact that I'd finished it and then wish it was longer! Does that make sense? God I'm rambling aren't I? I'll shut up now

Does that make sense? God I'm rambling aren't I? I'll shut up now Hello Charm I agree with you the size of the boo never puts me off reading it but I do get disappointed if there is not a lot going on in the story but that rarely happens thank goodness. Good luck with this. I don't actively avoid longer books, but I think sub-consciously I must do as I haven't read many books of over 500 pages! Hello Janet I think I must be like you in a way I have read smaller books and enjoyed them but I sub-consciously go to the thicker books. I also have a number of books that just fail to make the 500 pages so I must have a thing for chunkey books.
