I get chills when I listen to the opening track 'Dream of Sheep' from Kate Bush's 'Ninth Wave' concept piece about drowning

ninthwave.jpg

Little light shining,

Little light will guide them to me.

My face is all lit up,

My face is all lit up.

If they find me racing white horses,

They'll not take me for a buoy.

Let me be weak,

Let me sleep

And dream of sheep.

"Attention shipping information in sea areas...Bell Rock, Tiree,

Cromaty, gale east...Malin, Sellafield..."

"Come here with me now."

Oh, I'll wake up

To any sound of engines,

Ev'ry gull a seeking craft.

I can't keep my eyes open--

Wish I had my radio.

I tune in to some friendly voices

Talking 'bout stupid things.

I can't be left to my imagination.

Let me be weak,

Let me sleep

And dream of sheep.

Ooh, their breath is warm

And they smell like sleep,

And they say they take me home.

Like poppies heavy with seed

They take me deeper and deeper.

Here's a little Ditty by Nick Cave called Papa wont leave you Henry.

I went out walking the other day

The wind hung wet around my neck

My head it rung with screams and groans

From the night I spent amongst her bones

I passed beside the mission house

Where that mad old buzzard, the reverend,

Shrieked and flapped about life after your dead

Well, I thought about my friend, Michel

How they rolled him in linoleum

And shot him in the neck

A bloody halo, like a think-bubble

Circling his head

And I bellowed at the firmament

Looks like the rains are hear to stay

And the rain ****** down upon me

And washed me all away

Saying

Papa won't leave you, Henry

Papa won't leave you, Boy

Papa won't leave you, Henry

Papa won't leave you, Boy

Well, the road is long

And the road is hard

And many fall by the side

But Papa won't leave you, Henry

So there ain't no need to cry

And I went on down the road

He went on down the road

And I went on down the road

He went on down the road

Well, the moon it looked exhausted

Like something you should pity

Spent an age-spotted

Above the sizzling wires of the city

Well, it reminded me of her face

Her bleached and hungry eyes

Her hair was like a curtain

Falling open with the laughter

And closing with the lies

But the ghost of her still lingers on

Though she's passed through me

And is gone

The slum dogs, they are barking

And the rain children on the streets

And the tears that we will weep today

Will all be washed away

By the tears that we will weep again tomorrow

Papa won't leave you, Henry

Papa won't leave you, Boy

Papa won't leave you, Henry

Papa won't leave you, Boy

For the road is long

And the road is hard

And many fall by the side

But Papa won't leave you, Henry

So there ain't no need to cry

And I went on down the road

He went on down the road

And I went on down the road

He went on down the road

And I came upon a little house

A little house upon a hill

And I entered through, the curtain hissed

Into the house with its blood-red bowels

Where wet-lipped women with greasy fists

Crawled the ceilings and the walls

They filled me full of drink

And led me round the rooms

Naked and cold and grinning

Until everything went black

And I came down spinning

I awoke so drunk and full of rage

That I could hardly speak

A fag in a whale-bone corset

Draping his dick across my cheek

And its into the shame

And its into a guilt

And its into the ****ing fray

And the walls ran red around me

A warm arterial spray

Saying

Papa won't leave you, Henry

Papa won't leave you, Boy

Papa won't leave you, Henry

Papa won't leave you, Boy

Well, the night is dark

And the night is deep

And its jaws are open wide

But Papa won't leave you, Henry

So there ain't no need to cry

And I went on down the road

He went on down the road

And I went on down the road

He went on down the road

It's the rainy season where I'm living

Death comes leaping out of every doorway

Wasting you for money, for your clothes

And for your nothing

Entire towns being washed away

Favelas exploding on inflammable spillways

Lynch-mobs, death squads, babies being born without brains

The mad heat and the relentless rains

And if you stick your arm into that hole

It comes out sheared off to the bone

And with her kisses bubbling on my lips

I swiped the rain and nearly missed

And I went on down the road

He went on down the road

Singing

Papa won't leave you, Henry

Papa won't leave you, Boy

Papa won't leave you, Henry

Papa won't leave you, Boy

Well, the road is long

And the road is hard

And many fall by the side

But Papa won't leave you, Henry

So there ain't no need to cry

And I went on down the road

He went on down the road

And I went on down the road

He went on down the road

Bent Beneath my heavy load

Under his heavy load

Yeah, I went on down the road

Yeah, he went on down the road

Woah, woah

Woah, woah

Woah, woah

Woah, woah

And I went on down that road

"And yet my heart beats like a drum

Praying soon that he will come

And he will know me as I am

I'm not some foolish child

Not some creature meek and mild

I'm flesh and blood and bone and damned".

- "Women", sung by 'Cathy' in a musical adaption of Wuthering Heights.

Dawn breaks

Cold as stone and the world wakes

To be alone

Just the mountains are listening

A clean wind is whistling

Carries your thoughts away

Who knows but spirits wander the plateaus

The valleys the paths

The abandoned and lonely

Places that only

The ghosts and the demons stay,

I come to ask some questions

They always seem to know

They've been here since the earth cooled

They'll be here when we go,

I love the wind

The rain against my face

To stand against the storm

To feel it's chill embrace

I love the moors

The mountain's winding track

The solitude and space

The rock against my back.

A great Verse in an indie record ep by Josh Doyle of Dum Dums fame

Aphrodite - Josh Doyle

People are saying,

I should be putting roots down for the future,

But time is running out to be that person,

I want to do something great before I get older,

There's nothing worse than being mediocre,

But I keep walking out on opportunity,

Afraid that it will find me out as ordinary,

I only wish that they'd stop talking to me,

There's nothing interesting to talk about.

Walls- The Rocket Summer

The story of my life I can't quite comprehend

So tell me if you know how it ends

When everywhere you go feels like a mirror maze

And you're not sure how you're stuck in this place

And you've got nowhere else to go

And you're lost within your own home

You're trying so hard to win

You keep trying, it's embarrassing

And how you don't even know

But you know you're off the tracks

And how did you get in here

Thinking, how did I get in here

I'll help you break the walls down

I'll help you break the walls down

And bust you out

And take you home

Believe you me

You are not alone

I'll help you break the walls down

Does anybody know where February went

I was hoping that by now it'd be the end of this

But when you open up a book and read a thousand lines

But you don't really read, you just move your eyes

And you've got nowhere else to go

And you're lost within your own home

You're trying so hard to win

You keep trying, it's embarrassing

And how you don't even know

But you know you're off the tracks

And how did you get in here

Thinking, how did I get in here

(Chorus)

And I know this is random

But just this morning I saw the sun reflecting off the lawn and window

Oh, I dont know why but I thought you should know

When you've got nowhere else to go

And you're lost within your own home

You're trying so hard to win

You keep trying, its embarrassing

And how you dont even know

But you know youre off the tracks

And how did you get in here

Thinking, how did I get in here

(Chorus)

And all the weight that you carry will disappear

And I will willingly embrace your soul you lay ahead

So come on home

Come on home

Come on home

Home

Yeah

Me and You Versus the World - Space -when I was younger, I loved this song because of the first line :D

I first met you hanging knickers on the line.

From that moment on.

I knew that there could only be one outcome.

Me and you against the world forever.

You had no folks and I'm just a joke.

But we made a vow.

That we would never sell each other out.

A lie detector wouldn't make me doubt you.

Now we know that it's us versus the world now.

Me and you against the world now.

Look up there in the sky now.

See those stars well they're shining just for us.

Hey now, me and you against the world now

Look up there in the sky now.

See those stars well they're shining just for us

We hitched a ride that would turn out suicide

I had my '45 replica gun.

I didn't think we'd ever need it.

Didn't know he had a real one loaded.

You went in first, took the worst.

Couldn't hear me shouting you.

To stop above the busy traffic passing by

We promised that together we would die.

Now we know that it's us versus the world now.

Me and you against the world now.

Look up there in the sky now.

See those stars well they're shining just for us.

Hey now, me and you against the world now

Look up there in the sky now.

See those stars well they're shining just for us

(Spoken)

I went in next

Took a bullet in the chest.

So I hit him with the only thing that was anywhere near me.

A tin of baked beans and a woman's weekly.

I grabbed the cash

Picked you up and made a dash.

Didn't get too far

Made it to the parking lot.

40 cops in front of us.

Guess who got shot...

(Resume singing)

Lying there dying in each others arms.

Oh you said to me.

Don't worry about a thing my little sweetheart.

We're together we shall never be apart.

You took a chance on a loser like me.

But you never let me down.

And whether we're in Heaven or Hell

I know it's better than separate cells.

Now we know that it's us versus the world now.

Me and you against the world now.

Look up there in the sky now.

See those stars well they're shining just for us.

Hey now, me and you against the world now

Look up there in the sky now.

See those stars well they're shining just for us

You Can't Always Get What You Want - Rolling Stones

I saw her today at a reception

A glass of wine in her hand

I knew she would meet her connection

At her feet was her footloose man

No, you can't always get what you want

You can't always get what you want

You can't always get what you want

And if you try sometime you find

You get what you need

I saw her today at the reception

A glass of wine in her hand

I knew she was gonna meet her connection

At her feet was her footloose man

You can't always get what you want

You can't always get what you want

You can't always get what you want

But if you try sometimes you might find

You get what you need

Oh yeah, hey hey hey, oh...

And I went down to the demonstration

To get my fair share of abuse

Singing, "We're gonna vent our frustration

If we don't we're gonna blow a 50-amp fuse"

Sing it to me now...

You can't always get what you want

You can't always get what you want

You can't always get what you want

But if you try sometimes well you just might find

You get what you need

Oh baby, yeah, yeah!

I went down to the Chelsea drugstore

To get your prescription filled

I was standing in line with Mr. Jimmy

And man, did he look pretty ill

We decided that we would have a soda

My favorite flavor, cherry red

I sung my song to Mr. Jimmy

Yeah, and he said one word to me, and that was "dead"

I said to him

You can't always get what you want, no!

You can't always get what you want (tell ya baby)

You can't always get what you want (no)

But if you try sometimes you just might find

You get what you need

Oh yes! Woo!

You get what you need--yeah, oh baby!

Oh yeah!

I saw her today at the reception

In her glass was a bleeding man

She was practiced at the art of deception

Well I could tell by her blood-stained hands

You can't always get what you want

You can't always get what you want

You can't always get what you want

But if you try sometimes you just might find

You just might find

You get what you need

You can't always get what you want (no, no baby)

You can't always get what you want

You can't always get what you want

But if you try sometimes you just might find

You just might find

You get what you need, ah yes...

When you get weak, and you need to test your will

When life's complete, but there's something missing still

Distracting you from this must be the one you love

Must be the one whose magic touch can change your mind

Don't let another day go by without the magic touch

Distracting you (change your mind), Supporting you (change your mind)

Embracing you (change your mind), Convincing you (change your mind)

When you're confused and the world has got you down

When you feel used and you just can't play the clown

Protecting you from this must be the one you love

Must be the one whose magic touch can change your mind

Don't let another day go by without the magic touch

Protecting you (change your mind), Restoring you (change your mind)

Revealing you (change your mind), Soothing you (change your mind)

You hear the sound, you wait around and get the word

You see the picture changing everything you've heard

Destroying you with this must be the one you love

Must be the one whose magic touch can change your mind

Don't let another day go by without the magic touch

Destroying you (change your mind), Embracing you (change your mind)

Protecting you (change your mind), Confining you (change your mind)

Distracting you (change your mind), Supporting you (change your mind)

Distorting you (change your mind), Controlling you (change your mind)

The morning comes and there's an odor in the room

The scent of love, more than a million roses bloom

Embracing you with this must be the one you love

Must be the one whose magic touch can change your mind

Don't let another day go by without the magic touch

Embracing you (change your mind), Concealing you (change your mind)

Protecting you (change your mind), Revealing you (change your mind)

I know what you’re thinking

What’s Barney been drinking?

That girl was smoking hot

Yes I coulda nailed her

But no it’s not a failure

‘Cuz there’s one thing she is not

To score a ten would be just fine

But I’d rather be dressed to the nines

It’s a truth you can’t refute

Nothing suits me like a suit

Picture a world

where all the boys and girls

Are impeccably well dressed

That delivery guy

in the jacket and tie

That puppy in the double-breast

That ’80s dude in mutton chops

That baby with a lollipop

That lady cop who’s kinda cute

Nothing suits ‘em like a suit

Wingman I can wear

They’re oh so debonair

The perfect way to snare

a girl with daddy issues

In navy blue or black

Check out this perfect rack

I want to give them a squeeze

Oh really? Then answer these questions

If you please

What would you do if you had to choose

Between your suits and a pot of gold? Suits.

What would you say

If you gave your suits away

In return you’d never grow old? Suits.

What would you pick

One million chicks

Or a single three-piece suit? It’s moot.

What if world peace

Were within your reach … Abbadabada I’m gonna stop you right there. It’s suits. Come on, Lily. Get your head outta your ass.

Two! Three! Four!

Girls will go and girls will come

But there’s only one absolute

Every bro on the go needs to know

That there’s no accepted substitute

I’m sorry suits, let’s make amends

My Sunday best are my best friends

Send casual Friday down the laundry chute

‘Cuz nothing suits the undisputed oft-saluted suitor of repute

Like a …. wait for it …

Suit!

Then again, she is pretty hot.

You know how I feel

Sun in the sky

You know how I feel

Reeds driftin' on by

You know how I feel

It's a new dawn

It's a new day

It's a new life

For me

And I'm feeling good

Fish in the sea

You know how I feel

River running free

You know how I feel

Blossom in the tree

You know how I feel

It's a new dawn

It's a new day

It's a new life

For me

And I'm feeling good

Dragonfly out in the sun you know what I mean, don't you know

Butterflies all havin' fun you know what I mean

Sleep in peace when the day is done, that's what I mean

And this old world is a new world

And a bold world

For me

For me

Stars when you shine

You know how I feel

Scent of the pine

You know how I feel

Yeah freedom is mine

And I know how I feel

It's a new dawn

It's a new day

It's a new life

The night is black

Without a moon

The air is thick and still

The vigilantes gather on

The lonely torch lit hill

Features distorted in the flickering light

The faces are twisted and grotesque

Silent and stern in the sweltering night

The mob moves like demons possessed

Quiet in conscience, calm in their right

Confident their ways are best

The righteous rise

With burning eyes

Of hatred and ill-will

Madmen fed on fear and lies

To beat and burn and kill

They say there are strangers who threaten us

In our immigrants and infidels

They say there is strangeness too dangerous

In our theaters and bookstore shelves

That those who know what's best for us

Must rise and save us from ourselves

Quick to judge

Quick to anger

Slow to understand

Ignorance and prejudice

And fear walk hand in hand...

Well, so long liberty

Let's forget you didn't show

Not in my time

But in our sons' and daughters' time

When you get the feeling

Call and you got a room

Meantime, we're cutting our hands at the ke-bab shop

In the streets of fear

Forgetting all our best tae-kwon-do moves

On a barrel of beer

We trying to get a signal on a ragga f.m

Do the d.t.I., bust cnn

Sucking the wine right outta the vine

Spitting it out again

Groovin', lets cut out of the scene, go groovin'

Groovin', lets cut out of the scene, go groovin'

Drive, drive, drive

Distance no object, rasta for I

Yalla, yalla, yalla, ya-lah

Yalla, yalla, ya-li-oo, whoa

Yalla, yalla, yalla, ya-lah

Jumbalaya on the bayou

Kool moe dee was in the treacherous three

There's old school, new school and brownie mcgee

Going underwater to explode

Now night is falling on the grove

You can but dream

And I hear

Yalla, yalla, yalla, ya-lah

Yalla, yalla, ya-li-oo, whoa

Yalla, yalla, yalla, ya-lah

Jumbalaya on the bayou

Yalla, yalla, yalla, ya-lah

Yalla, yalla, ya-li-oo, whoa

Yalla, yalla, yalla, ya-lah

There's jumbalaya on the bayou tonight in the grove

Well, so long liberty

Just let's forget you never showed

Not in my time

But in our sons' and daughters' time

When you get the feeling

Call and you got a room

Meantime, we're cutting our hands on the ke-bab shop

In the streets of fear

Forgetting all those best tae-kwon-do moves

On a barrel of beer

Trying to get a signal through from ragga f.m

Do the d.t.I., bust cnn

Sucking the swine right outta the vine

Spitting it back again

Groovin', lets cut out of the scene, go groovin'

Groovin', lets cut out of the scene, go groovin'

Drive, drive

Somebody got a vision of a homeland

From a township, from a township window

Through a township window

Some crazy widow dares to have a vision

Starts seething, like

Seeming like a homeland on the plain

Not in focus yet

Seeming like a homeland on the plain

Not a focus yet

I'm groovin' with a free syle nation

And maximum density

And I say

Yalla, yalla, yalla, ya-lah

Yalla, yalla, ya-li-oo, whoa

Yalla, yalla, yalla, ya-lah

Jumbalaya on the bayou

Yalla, yalla, yalla, ya-lah

Yalla, yalla, ya-li-oo, whoa

Yalla, yalla, yalla, ya-lah

Only to shine, shine in gold, shine

Fixative ~ David Gray

If there’s a diamond in my mind

Will it dwindle down to nought

Or will it always be defined

If I can fix it with my heart

So I’m returning to the place

That I might look into your eyes

And look so hard that I can taste

That winter sun that never sets

That swallow caught up in the nets

That perfect chorus – when it hits

Don’t slam the door boy

When you leave

Was heading northward when I saw

That empty house out in the mist

And there are traces left for sure

On every mouth you ever kissed

So I’m returning to the word

To find my place between the lines

Where I might dutifully record

The blue within your seagull stare

That funny way you had to care

For every little thing beyond repair

Don’t slam the door boy

When you leave

And so I call out in the gulf

Where you went walking with the wolf

Hey boy you really brought it on yourself

Don’t slam the door now

When you leave

The strangest foe we ever faced

Is stalking every stage you graced

And crushing diamonds into paste

Don’t slam the door boy

When you leave

Don’t slam the door boy

When you leave

Don’t slam the door boy

When you leave

"So what would you think of me now,

so lucky, so strong, so proud?

I never said thank you for that,

now I'll never have a chance.

And if you were with me tonight,

I'd sing to you just one more time.

A song for a heart so big,

god wouldn't let it live.

May angels lead you in.

Hear you me my friends.

On sleepless roads the sleepless go.

May angels lead you in." - Hear You Me, Jimmy Eat World

I felt for sure last night

That once we said goodbye

No one else will know these lonely dreams

No one else will know that part of me

I'm still driving away

And I'm sorry every day

I won't always love these selfish things

I won't always live...

Not stopping...

It was my turn to decide

I knew this was our time

No one else will have me like you do

No one else will have me, only you

You'll sit alone forever

If you wait for the right time

What are you hoping for?

I'm here I'm now I'm ready

Holding on tight

Don't give away the end

The one thing that stays mine

Amazing still it seems

I'll be 23

I won't always love what I'll never have

I won't always live in my regrets

- 23, Jimmy Eat World

"Is tomorrow just a day like all the rest."

How could you know just what you did?

So full of faith yet so full of doubt I ask.

Time and time again you said don't be afraid.

"If you believe you can do it."

The only voice I want to hear is yours.

Again.

I shall ask you this once again.

And again.

He said:

" I am but one small instrument."

Do you remember that?

So here I am above palm trees so straight and tall.

You are smaller, getting smaller.

But I still see you.

Hurt by Johnny Cash ~

I hurt myself today

to see if I still feel

I focus on the pain

the only thing that's real

the needle tears a hole

the old familiar sting

try to kill it all away

but I remember everything

what have I become?

my sweetest friend

everyone I know

goes away in the end

and you could have it all

my empire of dirt

I will let you down

I will make you hurt

I wear this crown of thorns

upon my liar's chair

full of broken thoughts

I cannot repair

beneath the stains of time

the feelings disappear

you are someone else

I am still right here

what have I become?

my sweetest friend

everyone I know

goes away in the end

and you could have it all

my empire of dirt

I will let you down

I will make you hurt

if I could start again

a million miles away

I would keep myself

I would find a way

And this from 'Do you know what I mean?' by Oasis ~ 'I ain't good lookin', but I'm someone's child'

I sit at my table and wage war on myself

It seems like it's all, it's all for nothing

I know the barricades, and

I know the mortar in the wall breaks

I recognize the weapons, I used them well

This is my mistake. let me make it good

I raised the wall and I will be the one to knock it down

I've a rich understanding of my finest defenses

I proclaim that claims are left unstated

I demand a rematch

I decree a stalemate

I divine my deeper motives

I recognize the weapons

I've practiced them well. I fitted them myself

(Chorus)

It's amazing what devices you can sympathize, empathize

This is my mistake. let me make it good

I raised the wall and I will be the one to knock it down

Reach out for me and hold me tight. hold that memory

Let my machine talk to me, let my machine talk to me

This is my world

And I am world leader pretend

This is my life

And this is my time

I have been given the freedom

To do as I see fit

It's high time I've razed the walls

That I've constructed

(Repeat chorus)

You fill in the mortar. you fill in the harmony

You fill in the mortar. I raised the wall

And I'm the only one

I will be the one to knock it down

I've got a gun in my hand but that gun won't cock

And my finger's on the trigger but that trigger seems locked

And I can't stop staring at the tick-tock clock

And even if I could I would never give up

With a vest on my chest, a bullet in my lung

I can't believe I'm dying with my song unsung

And if and when I die won't you bury me alone?

Because I'll never get to heaven if I'm singing this song:

If there was something wrong would you be oh so strong?

Would you do what it takes to move this hollow life along?

I'd like to think I would, you know I'd like to think I would

But I guarantee that what you see is not reality

And every time she makes a point I make a counterpoint

She said, "It's easy but in the end you'll have no choice,

And you know that's only just the way it goes."

(You said it right man, that is just the way it goes)

And the days, and the days they seem like forever

And the days, and the days they seem like forever

But forever isn't ever enough

I'd like to sing a song (promise you won't be long)

I'll try not to be long but I don't want to get this story wrong

There was a kid who never cared about the little things

Don't even bother 'cause I'm tired and I'm sick of it

And every time she makes a point I'll make a counterpoint

She said, "It's easy but in the end you'll have no choice,

and you know that's only just the way it goes."

(You said it right man, that is just the way it goes)

I've got a gun in my hand but that gun won't cock

And my finger's on the trigger but that trigger seems locked

And I can't stop staring at the tick-tock clock

And even if I could I would never give up

With a vest on my chest, a bullet in my lung

I can't believe I'm dying with my song unsung

And if and when I die won't you bury me alone?

Because I'll never get to heaven if I'm singing this song:

Oh, you don't know where I've been

Oh, you don't know what I've seen

They wrote so many great songs but In keeping with this being a book forum, Cemetry Gates by the Smiths.

A dreaded sunny day

So I meet you at the cemetery gates

Keats and Yeats are on your side

A dreaded sunny day

So I meet you at the cemetery gates

Keats and Yeats are on your side

While Wilde is on mine

So we go inside and we gravely read the stones

All those people all those lives

Where are they now?

With the loves and hates

And passions just like mine

They were born

And then they lived and then they died

Seems so unfair

And I want to cry

You say: "ere thrice the sun done salutation to the dawn"

And you claim these words as your own

But I've read well, and I've heard them said

A hundred times, maybe less, maybe more

If you must write prose and poems

The words you use should be your own

Don't plagiarise or take "on loans"

There's always someone, somewhere

With a big nose, who knows

And who trips you up and laughs

When you fall

Who'll trip you up and laugh

When you fall

You say: "ere long done do does did"

Words which could only be your own

And then you then produce the text

From whence was ripped some dizzy wh0re, 1804

A dreaded sunny day

So let's go where we're happy

And I meet you at the cemetery gates

Oh Keats and Yeats are on your side

A dreaded sunny day

So let's go where we're wanted

And I meet you at the cemetery gates

Keats and Yeats are on your side

But you lose because Wilde is on mine

Songbird" sung by Fleetwood Mac

For you, there'll be no more crying,

For you, the sun will be shining,

And I feel that when I'm with you,

It's alright, I know it's right

To you, I'll give the world

to you, I'll never be cold

'Cause I feel that when I'm with you,

It's alright, I know it's right.

And the songbirds are singing,

Like they know the score,

And I love you, I love you, I love you,

Like never before.

And I wish you all the love in the world,

But most of all, I wish it from myself.

And the songbirds keep singing,

Like they know the score,

And I love you, I love you, I love you,

Like never before, like never before.

A fantastic choice Inver. I adore this song. Fleetwood Mac's songs so often have multiple layers. Wonderful.

A top Fleetwood Mac song for me (out of so many great songs of theirs) is

Landslide

I took my love, I took it down

Climbed a mountain and I turned around

And I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills

Till the landslide brought me down

Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love?

Can the child within my heart rise above?

Can I sail through the changing ocean tides?

Can I handle the seasons of my life?

Mmm, mmm, mmm

Well, I've been afraid of changing

'Cause I've built my life around you

But time makes you bolder

Even children get older and I'm getting older too

Well, I've been afraid of changing

'Cause I've built my life around you

But time makes you bolder

Even children get older and I'm getting older too

Oh, I'm getting older too

Awh, take my love, take it down

Awh, climb a mountain and turn around

And if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills

Well, the landslide bring it down

And if you see my reflection in the snow covered hills

Well, the landslide bring it down

Oh, the landslide bring it down

Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life) - Green Day

Another turning point

A fork stuck in the road

Time grabs you by the wrist

Directs you where to go

So make the best of this test

And don't ask why

It's not a question

But a lesson learned in time

It's something unpredictable

But in the end is right

I hope you had the time of your life

So take the photographs

And still frames in your mind

Hang it on a shelf of

Good health and good time

Tattoos of memories

And dead skin on trial

For what it's worth

It was worth all the while

It's something unpredictable

But in the end is right

I hope you had the time of your life

It's something unpredictable

But in the end is right

I hope you had the time of your life

It's something unpredictable

But in the end is right

I hope you had the time of your life
