dakingavenue
Come on, Mr Deaver, speed up on the Lincoln Rymes books. I'm getting withdraw symptoms. Edited March 7, 2009 by Kell Added caps and punctuation

Iagegu
I have only read a few of the Lincoln Rhyme books but I have certainly enjoyed the ones that I have read. mister.g
I've read the empty chair and the coffin dancer so far. Both really really good. One thing that stands out in Deavers writing is his meticulous research into whatever field his book intrudes into. Coffin Dancer features large amounts of aeronautical jargon with twists that shock you one after the other - having read a lot of books in this genre i was still genuinely surprised at the twist which revealed the coffin dancers identity. Heartily recommended.
lexiepiper
I haven't read any of this series, but I've seen the film and want to read the books, hopefully will get around to them at some point!
Ceinwenn
I've read all of the Lincoln Rhyme series & loved them all. Have read a fair few of his non-Rhyme books & they were pretty hit & miss as to whether I liked them or not.

frankie
Should these be read in some particular order?
pipread
Should these be read in some particular order? They are best read in the order they were released I think, because the characters and relationships are built up through the books. They are well worth reading. Nicola
I'd definitely recommend picking them up. I've enjoyed the 2 that i've read and want to pick up the others as well. I didn't realise there was a Lincoln Rhyme series!! I'm really excited now!! I've read The Bone Collector and loved it! Also, Mister.g I've just noticed that you're currently reading Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk. It's one of my all time favourite books! Hope you're enjoying it! Ceinwenn
You're welcome! I've been looking at the books on that list & I am positive I have read them all, but for some reason The Cold Moon does not sound the least bit familliar....................is it possible I've missed one? You mean the title The Cold Moon doesn't sound familiar or the blurb on it? If it's the title that doesn't make sense maybe you've read the book but it had some other title for some reason? Some books have different titles on different versions
Ceinwenn
No, it's the blurb that doesn't sound familiar. Think I might have to buy it to see!
frankie
Ceinwenn recommended The Broken Window to me and I made a request to the local library to get it. The request has already been handled and the book is on its way to the library That was quick! But, as I now know that it's the latest book in the series it might be unwise to start with it? Charm
The Broken Window was the first Deaver book I read. I don't think it matters if you start with it Frankie, to be honest it never really made any important references to the previous ones. I haven't read The Bone Collector but I've seen the film though so perhaps that's how I know how the two main characters met.

Okay, thanks my TBR crime pile has been increasing quite alarmingly lately so it would be a relief if I didn't have to go through all of those other books to get to The Broken Window. If BW turns out to be good I'll just go back to The Bone Collector!

I didn't know there were movies too. (Well not very surprising, I've only known this Deaver guy for a week) Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie, no thank you I may have to read the blurb on The Bone Collector before I make up my mind on which to read first. Oh why didn't I go to the library today, why?
Ceinwenn
Frankie, I think that The Broken Window is much better than The Bone Collector, & Charm is right - you can definately enjoy reading the series in any order.
