Lilywhite
I've just started reading what I think is her first book Die For Me which I picked up from Greenmet last week. Has anybody else read any of her books and what did you think? I'm not very far in yet but so far it's been quite fast paced and she seems to pick some interesting crimes. The other two I have waiting to read are Count tO Ten and Fear Nothing and I think she has another out in hardback at the minute.
Lilywhite
I've now read three of Karen Rose's books and I have to say that her stories are great. The only downside I have found is that all the main characters are the same. They all have the same characteristics and backround and there is very little variation at all. The actual criminals and their crimes are intriguing and they keep you guessing throughout the story. If your looking for an easy to read crime story, without too much graphic detail involved, I would recommend these. Count to Ten A young boy and his brother are abandoned by their mother and end up in the foster-care system. Let down by everyone who should have looked out for them, the boys fall prey to the abusers they meet. Is it any wonder one of them loses his mind and develops a taste for matches and revenge? Years later, Reed Solliday, of Chicago's Fire Department, is determined to find an arsonist whose actions have just escalated to murder. With the police now involved, Reed is paired with Detective Mia Mitchell, on her first assignment since her father's death and her partner's shooting. Solliday and Mitchell know the violence is escalating and the death toll is rising. With no apparent connection between the deaths, they are at a loss until their attention focuses on a young offenders institution and the misfits within... Take a breath. Count to ten. And watch their world explode. I'm Watching You Star prosecutor Kristen Mayhew has a dangerous, secret admirer. He seems to knows her every thought, her every move. He sends her letters. And he kills the criminals she herself is powerless to stop. This avenger even knows Kristen's deepest secret - the one that has made her keep her distance from Abe Reagan, the police detective sent to protect her. In the shadow of a calculating serial killer, the two have no alternative but to work together if they are to stop the messages and halt the vicious murders. Because sooner or later, the killer's obsessive need for retribution will make Kristen a target and then their real problems will begin... Die for Me When a multimedia games designer decides to take his research to the next level for his new game, The Inquisitor, fantasy ends and murder begins. Vito Ciccotelli, homicide detective in Philadelphia PD, is expecting the worst. Called to a remote murder site in a wooded area on private property, he is confronted with numerous bodies, all with horrific injuries, all it seems the victim of the same killer. When the medical examiner reveals that the wounds are consistent with instruments of medieval torture, Ciccotelli turns to Sophie Johannsen, museum curator and specialist in medieval warfare, to learn more about the killer's methods and to try and find the killer before he spirals out of control. With a rising body count and a ruthless killer at large, this is classic Karen Rose

Chrissy
hello mrtash. I've not read any Karen Rose, but Carol O'Connell is one of my favourite authors. Have you read any others by her?
mrtash
no not read anymore by Carole O'conner, can you recommend anything
Chrissy
Completely off the thread topic (oops!) but she has written a series on a character called Mallory, and a brilliant stand alone called 'Judas Child', that is haunting and harrowing in equal parts. Well worth checking out! What about 'Count To Ten' appealed to you?
mrtash
Oh yes, Count to 10 was a good read, It gets you straight into the story, not too slow to get going, strange for me really but at times gave me a warm feeling, a little humourous in places and a good thiller with a decent storyline. pickwick
Die for Me Scream for Me Kill for Me These are a series with Daniel Vartanian so it is quite a good idea to read them in sequence, but not vital as Karen Rose does update the story so you know what has happened previously.I think the rest of her books are stand alone novels.I hope you enjoy your new book Purple Princess:)
fayezie
I did wonder if Scream for Me, Die for Me and Kill for Me were a series. I'm currently reading Kill for Me, and haven't read any of her others. I'm really enjoying it and its very fast paced. I only started yesterday and I'm already half way through it!! magicberry
Karen Rose is actually my favorite author! I actually started with "You Can't Hide" because I love to read about psychologists, and Karen Rose just strike me to be the best suspense writer I have come across. The book was so intriguing and the suspense definitely keeps you going. The criminal of the story really keeps you guessing throughout the whole entire book. I've actually read all her books so far except for her most recent book. Reading each book delivers a different feeling into me. The suspense is really great for all of the books and I actually remember reading "Don't Tell" and that book just sends chills down my back. *shivers* I understand that everyone prefers different kind of writing styles, but for me, Karen Rose delivers the effect of her books with great techniques that really makes me want to watch my back at all times. Here's a list of her books if anyone's interested: Don't Tell Have You Seen Her? I'm Watching You Nothing To Fear You Can't Hide Count To Ten Die For Me Scream For Me Kill For Me I Can See You
Frenzy
I have bought a copy of Kill for me today. I loved the other two parts in this series, so I couldn't wait to start this one.

Josephine
I've read a 3 of Karen Rose's so far and have loved every one of them. The first was Dont't Tell. I immediately bought another of hers lol. I read Die for Me, then Scream for Me carries on after it and they were both brilliant. Most of Karen Rose's books are connected and if you visit her website it tells you how and which books come before what. karenrosebooks.com I've already got another 2 of her books lined up!!!
