Inver
'Redemption' by Kay Langdale (Transita) Blurb 'This is an unusually moving and compulsive novel which looks at love and marriage: six women, six different but interconnected relationships. Sarah, stifled by the twin pressures of family and work, may just succumb to temptation; Kate, a romantic at heart, is tormented by the loss of love; Isobel, ever faithful to her husband, yet accepts - perhaps implicitly encourages - infidelity: Martha, whose glorious affair in her 50s is the defining moment of her life; Sheila, in an unconventional marriage, resigned to chastity, yet the most generous of spirit; and Judith, whose past demons need to be laid to rest before she can live life truthfully. By candidly exploring their lives, each character must confront some uncomfortable realities: their subsequent honesty will determine whether this leads to despair or to mutual acceptance, collective grace and, ultimately, joy. ' I joined this as a part of a bookring on Bookcrossing and glad I did. Was a lovely read. There are tears of joy and sadness. Six women, six different but interconnected relationships and they all come together beautifully at the end.
