Água Viva

Água Viva translates as living water. It's a very short book at 88 pages and is stream of consciousness. The book is broken only into paragraphs but not chapters.  In it the author describes how she feels about whatever pops into her mind at the time she is writing. She "aims to 'capture the present'" She does this successfully.

It's well written but there is no plot and no characters and there is no story to follow. It's also deemed of great importance and very influential.

I'm glad that it is short and I'm glad that I read it but I wouldn't recommend this unless the reader is very keen on stream of consciousness and abstract writing that wanders all over the place. Deep and meaningful can be seen in just about anything if the person looking for it tries hard enough, so if you are feeling philosophical and want to ponder the reason for being this is the book for you.
