The Death of Expertise.

Iain C Smith

Recommended Posts

Once in a while a book comes along and surprises you, this is such a book. I heard the author, Tom Nichols on the radio talking about it. The subject matter peeked my interest. I got a copy and read it. It was a well written and easily understood book. Nichols' theory is that we have become used seeing and hearing from experts on numerous topics - without taking much notice of them. We, he says have made up our own minds  and become experts ourselves (often wrongly). Highly qualified men and women are being ignored etc...

I commend this book to one and all. It is thought provoking - possible life changing for some ?.
