Happy New Year Everyone! I've just finished 'Wolves of The Calla' by Stephen King and it was really good, but very confusing at the end! As it's a part ofa  continuing series, I'm wondering how I might go about review this novel. For those who read books series' do you review per novel, or as a whole?

Anyway, off to start reading 'The Night Circus' by Erin Morgenstern, my first novel in the 'Round Robin Year Long Challenge 2018'!

Happy new year, Karen!

Good luck with the Round Robin challenge ... I see you're starting with my choice.  I'm planning to read all the books I choose for everyone else, so looking forward with interest to see how you like it. :D

That's a good idea! I'm only 17 pages into 'The Night Circus' and I like it already.

Happy New Year! :D

Happy New Year! :D

I really enjoyed The Night Circus, it was so different to anything else I had read at the time! I have already read 5 of my 7 suggestions - I felt more comfortable challenging with books I could personally recommend, of course that doesn't mean anyone else will like them! :)

I will definitely read Pride and Prejudice as I received that as a Chrstmas gift but will need to purchase To Serve Them All My Days at some point.

Have a great year of reading...and good luck with the challenges. I see your The Pilot's Wife ~ Anita Shreve on a list. That was the first of hers I read and seem to remember enjoying it.

Thank you! It has been a while since I've read anything by Anita Shreve, so it'll be interesting to get back to her novels

Hope you have a great reading year!

Thanks Hayley, the same to you too!

I love 'The Night Circus' so far, it's so full of intrigue and the descriptions are beautiful.

Ha, I did not do this. One reason means I can extend my challenge to those I challenge others to (to make it a 16 read challenge)... and the other is that I cannot be blamed for any horror reads ;)

Happy 2018 Karen! I will enjoy following your reading exploits!

So, were at the end of the first week of 2018 already! This week I’ve had more time to read, before everything goes back to normal again tomorrow. That being said, I want to make more time for reading during 2018, so this is a good start.

Firstly, I finished ‘The Wolves of Calla’ by Stephen King, which I mostly enjoyed but I prefer some of the previous novels in ‘The Dark Tower’series. I will be reviewing this series, after I have read all seven novels.

After that, I read ‘The Night Circus’ by Erin Morgenstern and I absolutely adored it. I will write a review of this shortly.

Unfortunately after that, my reading has taken a slight halt due to back problems. So I reverted to listening to the audio book of ‘Jane Eyre’ by Charlotte Bronte and I’m currently about 6 chapters in.

I read ‘Jane Eyre’ many years ago at school and on my second visit to this novel, I started off thinking that it’s a little dull, but as I progress with this novel I’m beginning to enjoy it.

I said that I wouldn’t be setting myself a Good Reads reading challenge, but I gave in and have set myself the challenge of reading 10 books this year. The low amount may seem a bit of a cop out, but firstly I feel like reading 10 books is a goal that I can easily achieve and also it will help me to focus more on reading for enjoyment, rather than on the amount I read this year.

Also, I’m taking part in the ‘Round Robin Year Long Challenge’ on this forum.

I felt drawn to this challenge for two reasons. Firstly, all of the titles picked for me, would all  be books that I was interested in reading anyway and secondly, it would encourage me to stop buying new books and get through the large pile of unread novels that have been sitting on my shelves for ages.

So I think that the challenges I have set myself in 2018 are manageable and more importantly, enjoyable.

My final book resolution for 2018 is review more books on the blog. I want to share my thoughts on books I have read and look forward to hearing your opinions on them too.

All of the things I want to achieve reading wise, make me excited for the year ahead!

I'm sorry to hear about your back problems! I hope you feel better soon :flowers2:.

Good luck with your goals for this year :)!

Thanks! It was my own fault, because I was enjoying 'The Night Circus' so much, that I overdid the reading and put my neck/back out
