Welcome to my 2017 book log :)

I'll try to be better at updating this year :) FOr the first time in 4 years my books are all in the same place (double stacked in two bookshelves!) and I'm quite shocked at how many I've actually got unread so I'm going to try and read a lot more this year. Hopefully with all the books staring at me everyday I'll get reading more!

I've been interested in Bill Bryson, but never have read anything by him; I hear his audio books are great. The Kite Runner is harsh- have you read And the Mountains Echoed?

Have fun with the Twilight books and I wish you a happy New Year!

It must be lovely to have all your books back together again, Laura. Mine have nearly all gone into storage, so I'm a bit lost without them. :D

Hope you manage to find more reading time this year. :)

Thank you - its one of the best things ever about finally being in a house - I've finally got my little library!

Happy reading in 2017 Laura! Like you, I am also trying to get the TBR down, but it's just so easy to increase it...!

Its defintaly easier to increase than to get it to go down I seem to find!

1)The Christmasaurus - Tom Fletcher

51YKIcYyeUL._SY344_BO1,204,203,200_.jpg

Synopsis - Forget everything you thought you knew about the North Pole, and set off on a Christmas Eve adventure with boy named William Trundle, an elf named Snozzletrump, Santa Claus (yes! The real Santa Claus!), a nasty piece of work called the Hunter, and a most unusual dinosaur . . .

My Thoughts - I was looking foward to this book for most of last year and I was so excited when I got it for Christmas. It tells the story of William Trundle - a young boy who is a bit different to others - he lives with his Dad after an accident killed his mum and also left him wheelchair bound. Hes also obsessed with dinosaurs and his dad is with Christmas. This was such a magical story that really captured the magic of Christmas. It was so in depth when it came to explaining all about Santa and his elves and also about dinosaurs. Its definitaly aimed at children probably around 7+ and I'm definitaly going to read it to my son once he gets old enough to understand it.

I've also loved the author Tom since my teens - hes the lead singer of McFly and also married to Giovanna Fletcher and I follow both on youtube/instagram etc. This is such a well written book to by a 'celebrity' sometimes I find celebrity books a bit difficult to get into but this one was fantastic! I hope he writes more!

Rating - 5/5

I'm glad to hear you liked The Christmasaurus :). I'd like to read it too some day (and have added it to my list of BCF recommendations, along with Janet's name since she also read the book). Nice review :)!

Thank you - I found it a lovely Christmas story and hope you do too :D
