Hello and welcome to the forum! :) I've not read anything by Lucy Diamond or Carole Matthews, so I can't really say... But I think they are chick-lit authors? My personal favorites from said genre are Sophie Kinsella and Lucy Dillon off the top, off the top of my head. We also have a thread on favorite chick-lit authors here, you can check it out if you wish :)

Hello there. Thanks for responding to my post. I am going to check out the authors you suggested and have a look at the thread on chick-lit!

Welcome here :).

I haven't read anything by Lucy Diamond yet. I read two books by Carole Matthews but I didn't like them. I do like chick-lit in general though, some of my favourite authors are Sophie Kinsella, Melissa Nathan, Chris Manby, Scarlett Bailey, Susan Hatler (ebook only, minus one of her series. I prefer paperbooks but for Susan Hatler I make an exception and read e-books).

Individual books / series (not by aforementioned authors) I liked were for example:

Melanie Rose - Could It Be Magic?

Melanie Rose - Down to Earth

Julie Cohen - Girl from Mars

Sinéad Moriarty - Emma Huntington series

Helen Fielding - Bridget Jones series

Sarah Webb - Take a Chance

Other authors I like are Belinda Jones, Erica James, Veronica Henry, Melissa Hill, Lisa Jewell, and more. But I don't know how they relate to the authors you mentioned, so I'm not sure if any of this helps at all. I do have two books and a novella on my TBR by Lucy Diamond, maybe I'll be able to narrow things down once I've read one of those (I don't know when though, since I have a big TBR).

Hello Athena. Thanks for the response. I have read one book by Melissa Nathan. Can't remember what it was called though, thought it was very good. Thanks for giving me some suggestions. I've never heard of Melanie Rose or Julie Cohen. So going to take a look at those. I love the Bridget Jones films but couldn't get into the books, not sure why?  I can recommend 'The Beach Cafe' by Lucy Diamond. Its worth a read!

Hello!  I read The Beach Café a few weeks ago.  It was my first book by this author and I thought it was pretty good.  As you enjoyed that, I'd recommend Jenny Colgan, particularly her more recent books from the last five years.  Also, you might like to try Abby Clements and Michele Gorman.  :)

That's good to hear! I own that one :). I was planning on read the novella A Baby at the Beach Café for the upcoming read-a-thon next weekend.

That sounds good. I've just read about that. Its the short story follow up. I am definitely going try and read that next.

Glad you enjoyed it. I think it is one of her best ones. Thank you for the suggestions for authors to try next. I have heard of Jenny Colgan, will have a look at some of them.
