44Martin44
Hi, my high school teacher once told us about book that deals with euthanasia. The plot of book was about Vietnam veteran that lost his limbs, sight and ability to speak. The main part of the book is supposed to be about doctors having a dilemma about whether the man is alive or not. I know that this is not much information, but is there any chance anyone knows the author and title of this book ? Thank you Martin
chaliepud
Hi Martin It's not the same but a similar theme, you might appreciate (I can't say enjoy in this case) Johnny Got His Gun by Dalton Trumbo. It's set in the First World War as is from the perspective of a man who loses his limbs, sight, hearing and speech.
TammyRich
Hi - in a similar vein is The Diving Bell and the Butterfly written by the editor-in-chief of a French magazine who had a massive stroke and was completely paralysed He was diagnosed with 'locked-in' syndrome where the only communication he could make was by blinking one of his eyes. He wrote the book by doing this. It's a concise but riveting read. Tammy
