chaliepud
Happy October everyone! I'm at the dentist now but then will go for a lovely dog walk in the sunshine, it will have warmed up a bit by then too! This afternoon/evening I am taking Robbie to the open evening at the secondary school he is 99.9999% sure to go to next September, his older brother and sister go there but we want to give him the opportunity to decide for himself. Will be fantastic to have them all in the same school for the first time! Even if only for one year. :)
frankie
That's a busy day, with nerve wrecking and exciting events! I hope it's just a normal dental check up and nothing to do with any horrorful procedues! I hope you have loads of fun afterwards! Give you doggy pack a huggle from me! chaliepud
A filling so now feeling all numb and trying to avoid other walkers as I can't talk properly.. Did he inject my tongue?! Cuddles given to Obi, will try and catch Jojo at some point! She has her ball at the moment so is dashing around like a mad thing, tail wagging furiously, it really is her favourite thing in the world! Nollaig
I'm still sick after Brussels. Not too sick, most of the symptoms have subsided. Still have a bit of a cough and feel a bit shaky from time to time, but much better than I was. I have however randomly developed a light rash all around my torso. No idea what/why. Not sore or itchy so I'm chancing that I'm not actually dying and will see if I'm better by Monday. Also have a sore spot on the back of my head. No idea what's happened to me. Googled around a bit, but mostly worrying myself so I'm gonna just try take it easy. I do feel largely fine, I just feel like I'm at the tail-end of a flu. So we'll see. I hope you didn't bite yourself I hate going to the dentist, so even if my mouth/tongue's numb afterwards, I find it funny and oddly enjoyable, because it's something out of the ordinary, and it means that it's over! The dentist trip is behind me! Cuddles given to Obi, will try and catch Jojo at some point! She has her ball at the moment so is dashing around like a mad thing, tail wagging furiously, it really is her favourite thing in the world! Awwww! Chrissy
Despite only being back from holiday only two weeks ( ) I am off to Stuttgart in Germany on Monday. Husband has two days of work meetings (and two evenings of work socialising), so I am going with him and spending my two days taking a mini solo break, while my evenings will be spent with a book or two. I am so looking forward to it.

woolf woolf
I'm back from vacations, greeted by strong winds, rain and grey skies. It just invites me to stay at home all day. These were supposedly my first elections, but I'm too cosy to make all the arrangements in order to leave the house. Besides, I'm on a read-a-thon, duty calls. Nollaig
Still sick. Everything gone except slight wooziness and occasional cough exacerbating my asthma, but I feel quite out of it if I actually try to do anything like walk to the shop. Debating whether to force myself through going to town, as I actually haven't done a real shop since I got back from Brussels and have been living off deli food in the nearby shop and pizza. But I'm really not sure I'm up to it yet. Hate being sick, just bugger off, flu, will you!! I have things to do!!!
chaliepud
Viruses are yuk Noll, I hope you feel better soon. Try and get yourself some healthier food, even if it means a little trip out, the fresh air may help if you take it slow. Or maybe you have a friend that will shop for you? Do you have any Manuka honey? I find it a godsend when I'm feeling low, a spoonful in some hot water always perks me up. Take care x
Virginia
Feel better Noll! I've got 3 littles in various stages of the crud. I always lay down a large sum during September/October to get the house ready for the nasties. I've also been getting my freezer stocked so I won't have to go out in the mess or when I feel to ill to move. Things have been to busy around here. Between work, babies and dd moving in, life is hectic but in a peaceful way. Our dd was living in a dark place. Her father in law is a right p.o.s and it just wasn't working, especially with her hubby in Cuba. So, she's here and she's doing much better which means we are all doing better. She can help care for her kids and we can help her. Today is a day when everything stops. The rain is relentless and we've been STRONGLY advised to not leave home unless its because of flooding or life and death. The schools are closed tomorrow. So we are in various rooms doing whatever we need, to be contented. Pretty much a nice Sunday considering everything.

Take care x I don't, I was looking at the honey in the nearby shop today and there were a couple kinds but can't remember if any were Manuka. I know I should go, but it's a 20 min walk each way to any kind of decent supermarket, so it's daunting when I'm feeling wibbly. I will have to over the next couple days though, I'll have no choice. Thank you xx Feel better Noll! I've got 3 littles in various stages of the crud. I always lay down a large sum during September/October to get the house ready for the nasties. There's nothing worse than the doses everyone gets at the turn of the season. You know its coming but you still just have to ride it out when it does. Hate being sick. I haven't been coughing as much today, but I didn't go to town. I thought maybe I'd be better to rest up another day or two and hope it finally clears. I do have to pop over to the uni tomorrow for work, so we'll see how I get on with that.
chesilbeach
Hope you're feeling a bit better today, Noll First day back at work, and it actually wasn't too bad. chaliepud
Glad you had a good first day back Claire, hopefully the rest of the week, or the working part of it anyway, will fly by in the same manner. Are you feeling any better Noll? Lots of luthiers around here, we've all had minor colds but nothing requiring time off school thankfully. Got soaked this morning walking the dogs, Obi wasn't impressed until he realised that I was letting him have a dip in the pond, I haven't let him for the past week or so as it has been too chilly in the mornings for his old bones. Decided to make the most of being stuck indoors so cooking up some meals for the week, chicken soup, ratatouille and chilli so far, just about to do a big load of mince for cottage pies. Then maybe a chicken casserole as Maddie isn't a red meat fan.

Ick, I nearly got soaked today too, but luckily I missed the worst of it. I'm not sure that I'm feeling any better than the last couple of days, but I braved the trek into town today, got lots done and bought a new skirt and hat, I was mostly okay, did feel a bit weak at times and head still a tad fuzzy. Wasn't coughing too much, but I am still coughing. Also came home with a headache, but all things considered I'm alright. I did two loads of washing when I got in, and I'm going to dye my hair soon. So not totally better, but at this stage am just powering through it.
Virginia
Ventured out today and picked up some necessities. I REALLY needed to get out from under these little ones! As the sun is shining I decided to knock out the laundry and bring out the comforters and afghans to freshen up. I managed to get all the littles bathed earlier today so that's out of the way. Hubby went in to work last night for his regular shift (2000-0400) but as some of his coworkers couldn't get in because of the roads, he didn't get home til noon. Now the house is clean and tidy (considering 5 kids, three adults and one dog). Dinner will be put on soon and then I just need to wait for a word from work to find out if we're going in or not. I did order some much needed new boots, a rain coat and a nice messenger/bucket bag. They'll all arrive tomorrow Can't wait!
Virginia
Returned to work today and it feels weird. Everyone is putting on a brave face. Several of my coworkers have lost quit a bit. One had her lower level flooded out and they lost both vehicles, several of the law partners had sever damage done to their homes. On the surface, at least in the immediate area, things look normal. The electricity just came back on but we still have to boil water which means no coffee....Its really bad when there is no coffee.
More reading time required
That sounds awful. I can't imagine how horrible it must be to be flooded out. I've always lived on high ground, in the middle of the country & away from rivers, so I've been lucky to escape it. Sabry
Hi! I'm joined to a book club in English in my city to improve the language and last Monday was the first class, I had a great time but almost everyone has a high level so I don't speak so much. I'm doing some online courses too, to get new skills and improve my CV meanwhile I'm looking for a job. Virginia I hope the weather improves soon

Sabry
Thanks very much woolf woolf. I'm a graphic designer so I'm learning web programming(html, CSS and javascript). I'm also learning about the life and works of Joan Miro, a famous Spanish artist but this is a hobby, not for improving muy CV.
