September already?!

I've been resting, because I'm quite tired from going to my brother's birthday celebration on Sunday. I'm not sure yet what I'm going to do this afternoon. I'm excited for the read-a-thon this weekend. Sorry I haven't got anything more interesting to say .

What's going on with you in September?

I love autumn, but I hate what follows :(

Work for me this week plus the gym, bringing in my car for a service appointment, a hair cut, seeing friends and on Friday heading up to the cabin.  Monday is Labor Day and I'm off work!  Yahoo!

I started an online course about web design and programming! I'm really happy about it!

I don't like autumn and winter but it's what we have now!! :(

I have a pain in my heel since Saturday, I went running and since that I have the pain, I'm a bit dissappointed because I want to start running and I can't, everytime I run I have a pain or in my knee or in my heel, in the same leg everytime. I will go to a pediatrist to do a footstep study.

Sitting in the hospital children's wing with my five year old. Poor little man got a ride in an ambulance from school. I got a call from the school nurse saying he was in distress, having an asthma attack.

We're home now and he'll get to stay home tomorrow. I now have to sort out his medical insurance.

That sounds like a busy week! I hope you enjoyed your day off :).

I hope your heel feels better soon and that the pediatrist can help you :(.

I hope he'll feel better soon! I have asthma, nowadays it's not so bad most of the time since I avoid the triggers, but I remember from when I was a child it can feel very terrible and exhausting :(.

It's the read-a-thon tomorrow and I'm excited to be doing some reading in the next few days. I also have a phone appointment with my psychiatrist tomorrow. There isn't a whole lot going on today, but that might be kind of nice :). I've been feeling a bit tired lately, so it'll be good to get a bit of rest.

I am sick with a cold :(

Met that woman today about the job she wants me to apply for, and she's really enthusiastic about me applying for the job. Heh. Hopefully she'll still be as enthusiastic when she sees my sporadic employment history :giggle:

Feel better Noll! Thanks Gaia!

Sent grand off to school today. He was ready to go, lol! I got a call from the school nurse telling me that my 7 year old had asked his teacher if he could walk his 5 year old brother to his classroom (he's very protective of his siblings) and she said yes. Well somewhere along the way the 5 year old complained of chest pain or his older brother THOUGHT he was looking peaked so he takes out his little brother's enhailer (it has the chamber attached) and began administering it to him there in the hall. A teacher saw what was happening and escorted them both to the nurse's office. It was so cute. She said she couldn't be fussy because he was just so concerned about his little brother and was so polite and sweet! "Yes ma'am, no ma'am..." She just explained to him about adults administering medication and told him that he was an excellent big brother!

All the drama they've seen between their parents and mom's bi-polar and yet they are just so sweet and caring and loyal. For all their faults, they have instilled some great values on these little humans!

Your town appeared in the Telegraph's list of the world's friendliest cities. What do you think of it?

HAH.

HAH, I say. Ireland in general is friendly compared to other countries. Cork people will be friendly if you compliment their city, but that's because they think they're better than everyone else in the country. Cork is alright. Nothing to do here and it's full of Cork people, but otherwise it's alright :P (I'm not originally from here, in case you couldn't tell!)

Thanks Virgina!

Ha, no, because i I don't expect it it will be even more amazing if I get it. Plus, I'll freak myself out entirely about the interview if I put any kind of expectation on myself over it.

Sousa - basically what I said. Where I'm from, Kerry, the people can be more blunt and occasionally a bit ignorant but they're honest and what you see is what you get. Cork people (city folk, I spose, versus country folk), can be more pretentious. Now, some of my best friends are Corkonions, but they still have a 'Cork is the best' attitude going on.

That is so cute!

Yesterday I had to make several different phone calls (+ waiting) to make sure I could pick up my medication. I really don't like phoning people I don't know well, so it was stressful.

Nollaig I hope you will be lucky!

Athenea I'm better but next week I'm going to the doctor, because I'm a bit tired of having the same pain everytime I go running.

Last week we went to a homeware shop and they had an excellent Halloween section they had just put out.  A couple of purchases and a flood of ideas later, and we are now redecorating the living room!  O's has moved pretty quickly to get it started because I have a very bad habit of talking myself out of big things like this, so we spent yesterday moving bits and pieces out of the room and sanding and undercoating some woodwork.  And it was such a lovely day yesterday that we were able to do it out in the garden as well.  Not sure how much the neighbours appreciated my singing though :)

This weekend we went shopping. It was a lot of fun, but I felt quite exhausted afterwards. I'm happy with the stuff we got, though. I also stopped by the library and borrowed a travel guide for my parents. I found some nice books in the charity shop and we bought some other things like pastas, shampoo, etc.

Rubbish start to the week … bought my tea at the shop and put the lid on the cup, only to pick it up and find the lid wasn't on properly, and the scalding hot tea spilt over my hand, so spent 20 minutes with my hand under cold water.  Fortunately, I think I got to it quick enough and although it's a bit swollen and very red, it hasn't blistered, so I think it'll be ok.  It'll teach me to double check the lid is on properly in future though.  Let's hope the rest of the week is better!

So far this month, Xan and I have mostly been blackberry picking!

We've filled my 6 litre tub three times so far, so we've had several large blackberry crumbles, I have three large bags of berries in my freezer, and I've made two dozen jars of jam! I also plan to make blackberry liqueur tomorrow. Going to be all set for Xmas prezzies at this rate - everyone will be getting blackberry jam and blackberry liqueur! ;)

This weekend I'll be singing wartime classics at the Blyth Battery as part of their War Weekend entertainments. Looking forward to it. :)

Mmmmmm... that sounds AMAZING!

I got 2 jars of pineapple rhubarb jam, 2 jars of plum jam and 2 jars of apple butter at the farmer's market in town. They're going to be Christmas presents, but I may keep a jar of apple butter for myself... ;)

Awwww, that sounds very painful :empathy:.

This is so nice! I made strawberry jam myself last weekend. I hadn't done it in quite some time but it was a lot of fun and homemade jam tastes so good. It's so nice Xan is helping you :).

About to meet a friend for lunch and work a bit on my personal statement for this job I'm applying for. Trying to write a blurb selling myself as the ideal candidate when I have no experience whatsoever in the area is tricky.

I really don't mind either way about this job, I'm starting to get quite panicky at night now thinking about it. If I get it, I'll give it a bash, if I don't, well, I won't be sorry because there are probably easier roles I could take on.

Yes, lots of sparkly good luck vibes coming your way, Noll!

Mmm, blackberries.  Homemade gifts like that are lovely!  My sister has a couple pomegranate trees in her garden so we get jam every Christmas as well.  She also made a pomegranate vinaigrette dressing last year and that was tasty!

It was back to work today for me after a 3 day holiday weekend up at the cabin. Nothing too exciting planned for me this week besides work and the gym.  Have a good one, everyone! :D
