DanC_84
Ah, I just saw you're from Australia! Do you guys have foxtel there? It's annoying how they don't show much tennis at all in Free to air. GRRRRR. They only really show AO and Wimby and that's it. I would have to say Rafa's my fave one. He's the one and only who got me into the sport in the first place, saw that match against Verdasco in AO, and just got BLOWN away. AWESOME match. Unbelievable. THat match was crazy! I prefer Rafa over Verdasco but I gotta admit I was kind of pulling for Fernando to win that one in the end. I was actually down at the Open for the first 8 days. Did not miss a session! I remember the first time I saw Rafa play live. It was years ago. I think he was 16. He lost to Lleyton Hewitt in straight sets on centre court in a night match. I think it was like 7-6 7-6 6-3 or something like that. You just new then that he was going to be incredible. Yeah, I have Fox. I agree, free-to-air tennis coverage is just pitiful. I used to watch a lot more than I do now though. I work a lot now and just don't really have the time to watch as much tennis.
MissWhitlock
Oh you lucky thing! Tickets for the AO musta cost HEAPS. I'm planning on maybe going to Melbourne (dunno how) next year and see everyone play, but I have no money. That helps. Once again, you lucky thing! You have foxtel?! I'm so jealous. I never get to watch matches because not only do they not show it in the new sports channel but our computer is too slow to cope with livestream, so it's either I have to download the matches or buy them, which I do not plan. Grr. Verdasco definitely put up a big fight with Rafa in that match. My friend says it woulda been interesting to see Nando vs Fed but I dunno. Fed'd crush him like a beetle. Plus, Nando made HEAPS of Unforced Errors.

I've been back three times since with a group of my mates. It is definately expensive! Especially when you drink as much as I do and have a slight weakness for large casinos. I think Verdasco would have really struggled backing up from that match. He isn't as fit as Rafa, but then again, who is? It must be tought to follow it with no Fox. I remember back in the day when all of the Slams were live on free-to-air and some of the Masters Series finals. Pay TV is pretty much taking over sport here now. You should definately try to make it down to the Open. It is just incredible. The atmosphere sucks you in every time you get there.
MissWhitlock
I should...But I live in Adelaide, am 15 years old, don't have a job, don't have money. I shall prolly get a job soon though... I must, if I wanna see all my fave players play next year. unless I just go to the Adelaide International Open thingo, but no one I like ever goes there apart from Hewitt. Free to air TV NEVER shows much tennis anymore. It's sad! They only showed AO, Wimby and I think the final of RG and USO. Grrr. It's annoying. Luckily there's still the highlights in youtube but that's it really. Most of the full matches get deleted after like, a day. Yes, who IS as fit as Rafa. That reminds me of the new outfit he has, for some reason. What'd you think of that, btw? I honestly think it's absolutely horrendous. Why would they need to change it?! Grrr. They don't even have the tournament in Adelaide anymore do they? They moved it to Brisbane this year. So yeah, lol, it is the Aussie Open or nothing I am afraid. Rafa's outfits are usually pretty horrific. Those ridiculous pants he used to wear were pretty funny.
MissWhitlock
..I thought...I thought Djoker won Adelaide last year.. Hang on, lemme look it up. Oh, the Djerk won in 2007. Pff. And yes, they DID move it to Brisbane. Dayum. Adelaide's always so unimportant.

MissWhitlock
Oh dear. I don't think I can make it next year, no. DanC_84
Andy Murray makes it to No.3:D It is funny how just as Djokovic picks up his form and Andy's drops off, they swap rankings. Especially seeing Murray has been playing better than Djokovic all year up until the past month or so.
MissWhitlock
Woo, Go Murray! Yeah, I thought Djoker was doing really good.. Guess not then.
DanC_84
Woo, Go Murray! Yeah, I thought Djoker was doing really good.. Guess not then. It is all about the defending of points. Clearly Murray didn't do too well in the early-mid part of last season whilst Djokovic did. Therefore Novak had a lot more points to defend than Murray and even though he has been doing better than Murray he hasn't been defending his points sufficiently to hold his spot. I hope that made sense.
MissWhitlock
Yeah, it makes sense. Too bad for Djoker then, ay.
DanC_84
Yeah, it makes sense. Too bad for Djoker then, ay. Haha, yeah I guess. Novak played pretty well last night. He beat Hernandez, who isn't too bad on clay, pretty easily. Federer played pretty well also against Soderling. Rafa whipped Melzer too. No surprise there.
MissWhitlock
Yup, no surprise. Rafa vs some German dude next time, he'll beat him like a beetle again, and then Fed Vs Blake... Garr I'm quite upset that Ferrer lost against Monaco. Thought Ferrer would actually last long this time but Monaco beat him 64, 64. Garrr. GarrI'm quite upset that Ferrer lost against Monaco. Thought Ferrer would actually last long this time but Monaco beat him 64, 64. Garrr. Monaco is a great clay-courter and it is pretty much all he plays on. It shows just how well Fernando Verdasco is playing right now, because he made Monaco look amateur this morning. Ferrer has really dropped off lately. He doesn't seem to be hitting the ball anywhere near as well as he was a couple of years ago. Federer whipped Blake, which is good. I'm not a Blake fan. Funnily, Kholschreiber didn't even bother against Nadal - he pulled out. Probably a wise move. Some massive matches tonight: Rafa v Verdasco Federer v A-Rod Del Potro v Murray (that one is a real grudge match) Should be good.
MissWhitlock
Rafa V Verdasco should be good but then the last time they met turned to be quite an easy match, didn't it.

MissWhitlock
Yeah, I suppose. Oh, and I did not know Del Popo and Murray held grudges against each other. Do they?
DanC_84
Yeah, I suppose.Oh, and I did not know Del Popo and Murray held grudges against each other. Do they? They despise each other. Del Potro claimed Murray's mother was coaching him and hit a ball at him in a match they played in Rome last year. Supposedly it got heating in the changing rooms after the match. Del Potro could get the better of Murray in that one. Andy still doesn't look very comfortable on the clay and Del Potro has been hitting the ball very cleanly this week. MissWhitlock
LOL Del Popo hit a ball at him? I find that funny for some reason. Oh and look, we have the same amount of posts! rofl, off topic but oh well.
MissWhitlock
Rafa won against Nando! woo! And Fed won of course against A-rod. So its Rafa vs Djerk Fed vs Del Popo. So for sure, it's gonna be a Rafa-fed final.
DanC_84
Federer gave Nadal a little bit of a caning this morning. It was straight sets - four and four. I wouldn't read too much into it though, whilst I am happy for Fed it was the worst possible clay court for Nadal and apparently he was stuffed after a marathon against Novak the previous night. Still, should add at least a little more interest for the French.
MissWhitlock
INDEED! I was shocked, actually. I didn't watch the match, since I was probably asleep, but when I checked the scores this morning I was like, NO WAY. I thought he was superman! Oh well, at least both of them have like, 8 days rest for RG. Cannot wait for that! And if they do not show it in One HD, I will SUE them, I will. Pretty sure they will though, cause it's a grand slam, they CAN'T miss a grand slam, but it's Australian Tv. It's ****.

IMO the French is the best Slam to watch of all of them. It is the first overseas Slam I would go to if I could choose.
