I did the same thing!

I'm tearing through The Cipher by Kathe Koja and while there isn't much happy, nice or good about what's happening to the characters (or about the characters themselves), I'm absolutely loving reading it.

I was determined I was only going to read one book at a time.....fail...reading Broken Skin by Stuart MacBride and My Best Friends' Girl by Dorothy Koomson.

Reading The Skull Throne by Peter V. Brett and hoping to start Mr Mercedes soon.

I'm envious as it looks like the paperback of the former will not be released until 2016 :(.

I've been reading Jack Reacher #9, One Shot by Lee Child and I have quite the review coming up.

I look forward to read your review :D.

(EDIT: I have found it :) )

I'll be continuing with my read-a-thon reads, I'm currently (re)reading Ann M. Martin - The BabySitter's Club Super Special 2: Baby-Sitters' Summer Vacation.

Hi there!!

My best friend gave me a 50 euro Amazon gift card, and I spent it all in e-books :D

I'm reading a very interesting book, which I highly recommend: Confessions by the japanese writer Kanae Minato. Basically, a story of revenge.

And..  I add to my wishlist almost every book you all list here :giggle:

Hi Ele!! Good to see you around :smile2: And what a great gift from a friend!! :smile2: Which books did you get?

I finished reading A Tap on the Window by Linwood Barclay last night, it was really good! Don't know what to read next.

I finished The Cipher and am now over 70 pages into An Unwelcome Quest. Since my weekend has been washed out, I'm joining in the BCF Readathon for the first time ever!

I've also added reviews for  The Cipher and Burial Rites to my book thread. :)

I started David Copperfield by Charles Dickens last night and just love his writing style. He is fast becoming one of my favorite authors.

Excellent book :) Said to be semi autobiographical.

Finished The Bloody Tower by Carola Dunn, started and finished Lady Lucy's Lover by M. C. Beaton, and have started The Quilter's Apprentice by Jennifer Chiaverini. All enjoyable … nice easy reading for a bank holiday weekend. :smile2:

I finished the M. C. Beaton book yesterday, and am now reading Obsidian Curse by Barbara Annino.  As it's a bank holiday weekend, think I'll carry on with holiday books after that, and read Summer at the Beach Street Café by Jenny Colgan.:smile2:

There'll be some more bargains to look at tomorrow, as the new Kindle Monthly Deals should start at midnight tonight.  I'll be perusing them to see if I can find some good deals.

I haven't heard about Summer at the Beach Street Café, thanks for posting about it so I can look it up :).

I will be continuing with my library read-a-thon reads, but if I feel up for it, I hope to type a lot of book reviews today (I've written them in a notepad with a pen, by hand).

I finished An Unwelcome Quest (the third Magic 2.0 book) and I absolutely loved it. While I was rating it on Goodreads, the 'People Also Read' bit caught my eye, with a book named 'NPCs' by Drew Hayes. Within about 15 minutes, I had read up on a total of 6 new books (3 in a series, 3 independent), and acquired them all.

So now I'm 80 pages into NPCs and am absolutely loving it. (Premise being - when four tabletop gamers are stopped short in their quest by poor judgement and alcohol-induced death in an inn, four NPCs (non-player-characters) notice the adventurers were on their way to fulfil a quest for the king - the king who has a tendency to burn down whole villages if he doesn't get what he wants. Naturally, the only thing to do is for the four NPCs to take the place of the adventurers and fulfil the quest themselves to protect their town.)

I have no idea what genre these books fall into precisely (I have dubbed them 'gaming-fantasy', as 'fantasy' alone doesn't convey the fact that they're heavily inspired/set-in-the-worlds-of traditional tabletop and computer games) but I know I want more of them.

I must look this up :D! I hope you enjoy all of your new books :).

P.S. You might also like Yahtzee Croshaw - Mogworld, another fantasy / gaming type book :). Not that I'd want to encourage you to buy more or anything :P, but I thought Mogworld was really good and funny too.
