Nollaig
I did the same thing! I'm tearing through The Cipher by Kathe Koja and while there isn't much happy, nice or good about what's happening to the characters (or about the characters themselves), I'm absolutely loving reading it. Nollaig
I finished An Unwelcome Quest (the third Magic 2.0 book) and I absolutely loved it. While I was rating it on Goodreads, the 'People Also Read' bit caught my eye, with a book named 'NPCs' by Drew Hayes. Within about 15 minutes, I had read up on a total of 6 new books (3 in a series, 3 independent), and acquired them all. So now I'm 80 pages into NPCs and am absolutely loving it. (Premise being - when four tabletop gamers are stopped short in their quest by poor judgement and alcohol-induced death in an inn, four NPCs (non-player-characters) notice the adventurers were on their way to fulfil a quest for the king - the king who has a tendency to burn down whole villages if he doesn't get what he wants. Naturally, the only thing to do is for the four NPCs to take the place of the adventurers and fulfil the quest themselves to protect their town.) I have no idea what genre these books fall into precisely (I have dubbed them 'gaming-fantasy', as 'fantasy' alone doesn't convey the fact that they're heavily inspired/set-in-the-worlds-of traditional tabletop and computer games) but I know I want more of them. I must look this up ! I hope you enjoy all of your new books . P.S. You might also like Yahtzee Croshaw - Mogworld, another fantasy / gaming type book . Not that I'd want to encourage you to buy more or anything , but I thought Mogworld was really good and funny too.
