YALC 2015

Most of you know how much I enjoyed YALC last year, the UK's first YA Literature Convention. It was held within the London Film and Comic Con, and so it also gave me a chance to experience that too.

You can read more about YALC here, and read about my experiences here.

YALC is returning this year, again within the LFCC, and I've already bought my tickets. Today they've announced more of the expected authors (there's even more to come, apparently!) which I'll list below. It would be so wonderful if someone else from here decided to go, so I could say hi.. it should be another great event!

I'm seriously tempted, but I think it's going to clash with another commitment on the Sunday, and I'm not sure I could make a day trip to London on the Saturday as well.  I've looked it up a few times as I would like to try and fit it in, but as looks like it's becoming an annual event, maybe I'll be able to make it next year instead.

Ahhh I wouldn't want to impose! If it came down to the difference between going and not going, I might stay one night to reduce accommodation costs :) I had planned to maybe go back to London this winter, but instead I might actually keep saving right through til July 2016 and make a mini-holiday for myself out of it!

Patrick Ness seems to have been both years, I hope he's there again next year, would love to get A Monster Calls signed! The thought of so many authors is one place is amazing!

Sarah Pinborough D: I can't do it, not with my new job crippling me financially until the end of June. I will suddenly be able to afford it all at once at the end of June, but until then I can't. If there are still tickets and flights at the end of June, I'll get them, but I just can't do it before then.

I am however going to use that giant list of authors as a reference guide for finding lots of new YA stuff to read!

Official schedule released... and it honestly looks amazing. http://www.booktrust.org.uk/books/adults/young-adults/yalc/programme/

There are 10+ authors now, up from 3 a couple months ago, who I would love to hear speak/get autographs from, and I don't doubt that number will increase as I keep checking out more of them. So far, the only one I want to see on the Friday is Lou Morgan, author of Sleepless, which really was a great little book - on a horror panel.

I'm talking like I'm going. I'm so tempted, specially since my Iceland trip has fallen through.
