Chrissy
Yowzer, that was super quick peeling! I will be trying the egg hack later on today, as I will be boiling some eggs.
Athena
I've got to try these ideas some time!
~Andrea~
Do you have to boil them whole?
Kell
Here's another way of peeling your hard boiled eggs:
Chrissy
A comparison method! I will either be delighted later, or my kitchen will need a good clean.
muggle not
A comparison method! I will either be delighted later, or my kitchen will need a good clean. Please let us know if the methods work as shown. I will try for myself the next time I boils an egg or need to peel potatoes.....and yes, I do peel potatoes. muggle not
Do you have to boil them whole? Hmmmm, that is the only way I have tried to boil an egg.
Nollaig
I've seen the thing where you can 'blow' eggs out of their shells... doesn't work for me. Or most people I know. It does however loosen the membrane inside the shell, so the egg peels much more easily the regular way. I don't see that potato method working for me either
Chrissy
The water and egg in a glass method worked well, although you do have to make sure that your palm can cover the glass. I could not get the second method to work, although I had only the one egg at this point to try it with. The next batch I boil up I will try a few variations - change the hole size (same, one bigger than the other and shape of hole), and also the expulsion method, whether it is one sharp puff or more of a toot-a-loot method. Oh dear, I seem to be caught up in the many peeling methods now!
Athena
The water and egg in a glass method worked well, although you do have to make sure that your palm can cover the glass. Yeah.. my hand wasn't big enough, so it failed miserably for me so I just peeled the egg the way I usually do it .
chesilbeach
I have to say, I've never really worried that much about peeling an egg! I think the most I've ever had to do is four, and it takes no time at all, so I don't think I could be bothered to try these methods. Chrissy
I was intrigued Chesil, so wanted to give the different methods a go. It is likely that I'll go back to my roll 'n' peel method in no time. Edited March 9, 2015 by Chrissy

Haruumph!! Well, we cook 12 to 18 at Easter for pickled eggs and my hands are large enough so I will give it a try.
