Virginia
June, I'm glad your sister in law is doing better. Anna, we did the AG doll with our youngest. It was expensive. I got our little Sally her first Cabbage Patch doll. Can't wait till she opens it! Off to work in a few hours.
Anna Begins
Anna, we did the AG doll with our youngest. It was expensive. I got our little Sally her first Cabbage Patch doll. Can't wait till she opens it! Not to mention $22 in shipping!! And it took me almost an entire roll of paper to wrap her- should've had Santa do it
Athena
She was discharged from hospital last night and is now home, thank goodness, which is a huge relief all round. They have confirmed that it was indeed a blood clot that travelled from the lung into the heart and caused the blockage in her artery. She was then by all accounts, extremely lucky as that can easily be fatal. I am finally ready for Christmas though I am pleased to say. We did the Christmas food shop first thing this morning (Sainsbury's was already busy at 8am this morning, so I dread to think what it will be like next week). Presents are all bought and cards all posted. After we did the shopping, Coran dropped me of at the sports centre up the road for a nice massage and dip in the hot pools (an early Christmas present to myself) which was thoroughly relaxing and very nice, so I am now feeling suitably pampered and relaxed. I'm glad she is okay! I wish you a very merry Christmas! Just got all the presents wrapped- whew! I didn't know there were so many! We have bought through out the year for my 6 year old to try and save money. I put all the ones from me and her Oma under the tree and all the ones from Santa are hidden in the closet in special paper. She is at Oma's house right now, so when she gets home and sees all her gifts from us, she will be so excited. We will probably let her open some of ours on Christmas Eve (just small stuff from "us") and then on Christmas eve night, Santa will come to my house and all his gifts will be here for Christmas morning. Nice that you're done wrapping the presents! Well, today the heater should be placed, so I'm spending most of the day in my library. However, they were supposed to be here an hour ago, but they're not here, yet, and they aren't answering their phone in the shop. So I don't know, I do hope they'll be here and place the heater today. Otherwise we'll take our business to a different shop (it wouldn't be the first time they'd forgot about us) but we might not have a heater until spring . EDIT: Well what do you know, the people in the shop finally answered their phone and said the workers have just left so they should be here in a while. It's still not good service, but I'm glad they're coming though. Edited December 22, 2014 by Athena
Calexa
I have not had a chance to back read to where I left, but I hope everyone has stayed well, and happy. A most Merry, safe, and blessed Christmas to everyone. I hope you spend the holidays wrapped in the joy and warmth of friends and family. I'm looking forward to spending some quality time with my brother, grandpa, and a few close friends over Christmas...eating too much. Virginia
Had a lovely outing with my hubby. We walked a around a shopping center, ate frozen custard and caught a movie.
Talisman
Frozen custard sounds interesting Virginia ! Coran and I also went shopping yesterday. I bought a Merino wool T shirt and some new walking boots for the trip to Iceland in March and various goodies from Lush - I can usually smell their shop before I actually see it, even with a cold ! It was really nice though to go into 2 of my favourite shops - Rohan (outdoor specialist) and Lush and be instantly recognised - the girl in Lush remembered about our wedding and was asking us how it went, which I thought was really thoughtful and kind. Coran showed her a picture that was on her phone, which she was delighted by. The staff in Rohan were friendly too, greeting both of like old friends - mind you, I do spend a lot of money in there! It really does make a difference and other retailers should take note.

We're spending some nice time sitting in front of our new heater, resting, reading, playing on our DS's, and on occasion watch something (but we can't do that in front of the heater). I'm enjoying relaxing for a few days with less noisy input. I am though busy now and then with preparations for birthday gifts and book-related things.
