I noticed the 2014 thread has switched to chatter about 2015 movies, so here's a shiny new thread! I've moved the posts about 2015 movies to this thread.

What movies are you looking forward to seeing in 2015? I'll have to do some research because I don't know of many at the moment!

Some of the films I'm looking forward to next year. The ones marked in red are the ones I'm mot excited about. You may notice a complete lack of comic book hero movies from my list, which is unusual for me, but I'm getting sick to death of them and I am SO over the Avengers series it's not even funny.

The Theory of Everything - Looks like a very sensitive portrayal of Stephen Hawking's life

Mortdecai

Project Almanac - This one has been put back several times

Jupiter Ascending

Seventh Son

Kingsman: The Secret Service - Colin Firth being awesome

What We Do in the Shadows

Cinderella - Live action version which looks magnificent!

A Little Chaos - Kate Winslet in a period piece

Serena
Furious 7 - Been waiting for this one a long time

The Age of Adaline

Far from the Madding Crowd
Mad Max: Fury Road - Tom Hardy takes up the reigns as Max

Tomorrowland

Jurassic World
Pan
The Man from U.N.C.L.E. - Henry Cavill!!!!!
Kitchen Sink
Frankenstein
Jem and the Holograms

The Last Witch Hunter

Bond 24

Peanuts - Come on, it's Snoopy!

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 - The final installment
Krampus - The darker side of the winter festivities...
Mission: Impossible 5

Into the Woods - The Broadway musical brought to the big screen at last!

Foxcatcher

Grimsby

Crimson Peak

The Jungle Book

Spectre - Bond 24

Kell, you're always the most knowledgable person about upcoming movies. :) I haven't heard of most of these, so I have some research to do!

Please please please tell me that the Peanuts movie is going to be animated and not live/computer animated? I'm almost too scared to know the answer.

I gather that Krampus is based on Brom's book?

Thanks for the link to Project Almanac, Anna. It looks pretty good! (Although I understand your comment about it going either way. :D)

ETA: OK, I looked up the Peanuts movie and it is indeed computer animated. <sigh> However, I've watched the trailer and they appear to be keeping strictly to the spirit of it all, and the voices are all the same (or at least sound the same) to what I'm used to, so maybe I'll give it a chance.

Luckily for me I'm not... but sadly for some the comic-book movie epidemic is only going to get worse. Marvel have films being made until 2019 and have ideas/story-lines set up as far as 2028. Their output is going to be crazy over the next ten years.

I'm not either, but I was surprised that they planned so much. I've enjoyed a lot of the recent Marvel movies, so hopefully the next ones will be good too.

Wow, 14 replies so far and no one has mentioned Star Wars VII (which will probably be the biggest film of the year, although it won't be officially on the box office take because it's coming out so late).

I'm looking forward to the Avengers film as well, but there's not much else on my radar at this point.

I wonder how it will do against the final Hunger Games, Mockingjay pt2.  That will be out in November.  Interesting.  Completely different generations.

Edit: Honestly, I'm not sure I am looking forward to The Force Awakens (VII)

I'm looking forward to Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens, and to Mockingjay Part 2, []bInsurgent[/b], Minions, and any of Marvel's films such as anything Avengers related, and probably some other ones I don't know about. I'm not entirely sure which films come out next year or which ones will be the year after. I'm looking forward to Paper Towns too for example but I don't know if a release date has been announced and if so what it is for in the Netherlands.

It's out in June here, I'd be up for a group read before, I believe it is on my long- short list for 2015.  I haven't read anything by him before.  Oh- who was he in Fault in Our Stars?  You said he had a cameo?

I'd be up for one too! Yes, John Green made a cameo appearance in TFiOS, he was the father at the airport, of the little girl who asks Hazel about her breathing device :).

LOL - I spend a lot of time checking out upcoming films on IMDb. ;)

There's precious little info on Krampus, and Brom isn't mentioned as a contributor on IMDb, but I hope it is at least loosely based on his wonderful novel. I adore Brom and would love to see all his books made into movies. And yes, Peanuts is animated and looks pretty decent, so I'm hopeful that it will live up to the promise of the teaser trailer I saw. :)

I also want to add to my list Terminator Genisys, as in February I did a cast/recast of Terminator 2: Judgement Day, and the Movie Gods have smiled on me and cast Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, just as I wanted! :)
