Both of these little books contain three atmospheric short stories, perfect for autumnal evenings. The winner will also get Mary Shelley tea (a lavender and vanilla black tea) from Rosie Lea Tea's Literary Tea Collection (https://www.rosieleatea.co.uk/collections/literary-tea-collection) and a chocolate skull, to really get that spooky atmosphere .   and...   A special treat for a special month. The winner will choose one of the following recent paperback releases from the independent bookshop Big Green Bookshop:       The Wych Elm by Tana French A House of Ghosts by W.C. Ryan Melmoth by Sarah Perry The Familiars by Stacey Halls  The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein by Kiersten White   The winner will be chosen via the usual random selection process in one week. If you aren't a patreon supporter but you'd like to join in with this giveaway, you can support here: https://www.patreon.com/bookclubforum.   I really hope you're all going to like this introduction to the seasonal giveaways. It's been a lot of fun to put together. Other chocolate skulls may have been harmed during the selection process…

Coffee or Tea?

Recommended Posts

I'm trying not to drink coffee with caffeine after midday.

I've tried Douwe Egberts, which I didn't like at all, and Kenco Millicano, which wasn't much better, but they're the only instant ones I've tried.

I'm not against trying a supermarket own-brand.

Does anyone (UK-based) have a recommendation for an instant decaf coffee that actually tastes like coffee, please?  :)

I’m afraid I like the Kenco Millicano, so I can’t offer advice on instant.  If you go for a cafetière and use ground coffee instead of instant, I think you’d probably like the Lavazza decaffeinato which was always my favourite when we used the coffee machine or the cafetière :)

Thanks, Claire.  :)   We have a Nespresso so I tend to have that decaf if I want something other than instant, although I think I probably prefer the cafetière over the Nespresso - it's just such a fag to clean!    I will give that a go next time I buy ground coffee (I do occasionally put my laziness aside and use the cafetière!).  :)

If I'm working in an office with free coffee, I drink coffee. But at home, I generally drink tea.

Although I love coffee, I try not to drink it often, as I am quite addicted and tend to go through withdrawal if I stop after drinking.

A tea drinker, from a tea drinking family, it is my hot beverage of choice. I have coffee too, but only a cup a day.
