Technophobe Transfer To Ipod

I listen to my music on a Nokia 5310 phone with a memory card.

 

1. How do I turn all my music into the proper format for an IPod Touch 35mb, older version.

 

2. How do I get rid of duplicates.

I've tried putting my current c/file music on and get 3 copies of half albums.

I don't know about the exact details but I use iTunes to transfer music onto my Ipod (I think you have to do that) and it automatically converts files that are in the wrong format. I'm not sure what format your music is in but have you tried to adding the files to iTunes and seeing if it's asking you about conversion? What format are your files in? I don't know about the Ipod Touch but my Ipod can read for example mp3 files but not wma. If iTunes can't convert your files I suggest trying Audacity, a free program that can convert sound files. I believe you can do batch conversion in it (I used it in the past to edit a podcast I was a part of but I haven't used it the past few years).

 

There are programs that can search for duplicate files. The one I use is Fast Duplicate File Finder. There is a freeware version which I use but there's also a professional version you can pay for that does more.

Yeah, you'll probably be best using iTunes.  You might want to make a back-up of your music before you do anything.  These links might be of help:
