vodkafan
I started noticing the Nemi cartoon strip published in the Metro* when I sold my car last year and began riding the bus. She caught my eye because she reminded me a lot of Thoughtful Daughter. A couple of months ago I started saving the cartoon strips I came across and bought a little photo album to display them in. I found out today she has existed since 1999 and is Norwegian in origin. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nemi_(comic_strip) *For our US friends, the Metro is a free newspaper that is given away on public transport buses and the London Underground

Athena
I've read some and liked them, that was maybe 9-10 years ago? I knew someone who really liked the cartoon strip and told me about it. I remember what the main character looks like but I don't remember a lot else about it nowadays. It's really a blast of the past to read about it, I had no idea it was still going, that's excellent! frankie
Not me, personally, but the strips are a regular on one of the daily newspapers over here and I know some people really like them

vodkafan
I have a book with Nemi strips collected. Which one is it emelee? I have ordered Vol.1 as it was very cheap. Some of the others are very expensive it seems, and Vol.2 seems impossible to find
emelee
Which one is it emelee? I have ordered Vol.1 as it was very cheap. Some of the others are very expensive it seems, and Vol.2 seems impossible to find As Nemi is Norwegian, it's easy for Scandinavians to get Nemi. It's widely translated to all scandi-languages. I have this one http://www.adlibris.com/se/bok/nemi-d-4-9789189632509 Edited July 25, 2014 by emelee
vodkafan
Haha like the cover of that one! It fits that she would be wearing a Punisher T-shirt....
vodkafan
I got my Nemi book through the post today. I was surprised it turned out to be a hardback. (so, not a bad deal for 1p plus postage) You can tell these are early ones, Nemi is a lot younger and more confrontational with people, she is also getting drunk and sleeping around a lot! The humour is still there though. Edited July 31, 2014 by vodkafan
