Michelle
It is a little unusual to make your first post about a specific book you've 'discovered'.. are you connected with it in any way?
JaneTreswell
Hi - No, I thought the whole point of this thread was to rave about specific authors? I shall taper my enthusiasm in future, but it fairness I had a look at how other people were phrasing their comments prior to posting so as not to fall foul... Michelle
Yep, you can rave about certain books, but it's unusual to find someone happy to start off new threads.. in my experience, most new members start off by getting involved in existing threads first. You must also excuse a jaded admin who has found quite a few writers and even publishers pretending to be nothing more than a reader,in order to promote books. Is this your usual type of book, or was it something new for you? And.. welcome.
JaneTreswell
Thank you - I really like books set in South America - stuff like The Dancer Upstairs (Nicholas Shakespear) and The War of Don Emanuel's Netherparts (Louis DeBerniere) - so in that sense it's similar - I also like the way they bring the history and superstitions of the continent into the modern day. Having said that I'm now reading Harry Potter!
