Vimes
Welcome and I hope that you find lots of new books to read. I have to say that I have never heard of Vonnegut before. But after looking him up on Google I can suggest a few authors that might be worth looking at if what you are looking for is outlandish humor and just a lot of craziness Piers Anthony - The Xanth series Terry Pratchett - The Discworld series Terry Brooks - The Landover books Fritz Leiber - The Lankhmar books I hope that these are close enough to what you are looking for. P.S you can read the Discworld books in any order so just go with the first one you want to read
vodkafan
Vonnegut is pretty unique. What exactly is it that you liked about him? That will help us guide you a bit.
Marie H
How about Gabriel Garcia Marquez? He has a wonderful style with magical realism, esp. in One Hundred in Solitude, Chronicle of a Death Foretold, and Of Love and other Demons. Wow I should have answered this already Ok I love his style, more specifically the random nature of what he writes and yet he keeps to the story line. He seems very unforgiving and unapologetic if that makes sense. I don't know if that helps at all Foxface
Foxface
The word quirky comes up a lot when I think of him too
vodkafan
Ok armed with that I am thinking a few by Roger Zelazny: Isle Of The Dead Doorways In The Sand Creatures Of Light And Darkness And Lord Of Light (which I haven't read, but is supposed to be one of his best) I will think some more.
