Millennium Withdrawal Symptoms

Recommended Posts

I just recently finished the Millennium trilogy (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo etc.) and I miss the characters already! Are there any series similar I can read? And what do you normally do after reading a trilogy or series of books, it's the first full series I've actually read and coming to the end is quite sad!

That literature map missed one IMO very important series. The Martin Beck series by Maj Sjöwall & Per Wahlöö. That series is (again IMO) the best crime fiction series. Many say it is the role model and inspiration for the nordic crime fiction expolosion.
Just keep in mind that it was written in the 1960s, and doesn't have cool gadgets and cyber related stuff. And no female protagonists who kicks ass. Just plain police officers with every day problems. ;)

If you want a female protagonist who isn't a police officer, than Camilla Läckberg's Fjällbacka series could work. I've only read The stonecutter & The angel maker - but both were really good.

There are also the Wallander series by Henning Mankell, Leif GW Persson's crime fiction, Åke Edwardssons Winter series..........
