Ohh, what wine have you ordered?

I hope you don't make it a day trip! :icon_eek:

it will be a "long" day trip. :)

I bought 1 case of the following and 1 case each of the attached. This is my special wine and I don't do this often. :)

From Calvert-Woodley.....Dear Edward

According to Jenn (our wine import specialist) we are expecting 2010 Domaine Grand Veneur - Lirac Clos de Sixte to arrive at our store on May 15. We will notify you as soon as the wines arrive at our store so you can pick it up. If you have any further question please contact Jenn at

Best Regards,

Elizabeth

I have a 6 month checkup with my doctor in Washington, DC on Friday. It is a 280 mile drive up to DC and 280 miles back. :)

While in DC I will pick up 3 cases of wine that I ordered at my favorite wine shop.

Take care on your trip Muggles. The wine will make it all worth while I'm sure :D

Very sad news about the tornado in Oklahoma. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the people affected :(

Last weekend at the cabin was so nice and relaxing.  We drove past the spot of the 'ice tsunami' and it looked like nothing had ever happened.

You're staying overnight in DC I hope, Muggle!  Do you at least get to do anything fun while you're there?  A museum, perhaps?

My heart is hurting for those affected in the past few days by the horrible tornadoes.  We had bad weather being on the tip of the storm system but it's a drop in the bucket compared to all the destruction happening down in Kansas and especially Oklahoma :(.  Last count I heard this morning is that 51 people have died and almost half of those are children.  The tornado destroyed two schools and a hospital in addition to all the other homes and businesses.

All my thoughts and prayers are going out to them and if I could hop in my car and drive down to help them recover I would.

I think I heard something on the news last night about 20 tornadoes going through there or something? I don't know whether they meant that in the history there have been a total of 20 tornadoes. But it's so sad. The amount of tornadoes you get in America is unbelievable. Just when you think you've sorted your life out and got back on track another one comes along.

I'm really hoping this weekend is nice and sunny as my Dad and his girlfriend are coming down to seeme. I've also got a math exam on Friday and a JOB INTERVIEW on Thursday. :P I'm so excited. It's my first ever job interview so I'm nervous as well.

RisingDawn, I'm sure it was 20 tornadoes in one day.  Those states in the midwest experience that pretty regularly during the summer months.  Usually they aren't so massively destructive though!  I was watching some videos last night and all you can see is debris.  It's like someone took a giantic mixer and just churned up everything in it's path, which was over a mile wide I heard.  Luckily though, they reduced the number of casualties since yesterday, which is amazing.

Good luck on your interview, btw! :)

peacefield is correct. I would like to add that the tornado covered an area 17 miles long. View the photos in the attached by scrolling down about midway and then view the slide show of the devastation......absolutely horrific.

I checked out the pictures. It's nice to see them all working together to find missing people and keeping an eye on people who have lost their homes. I can't believe that Americans manage to get back on their feet after these devastations, yearly.

Cool when are you heading there?

Sorry, I had already left (I don't live in Cambs) when you posted this so I didn't see it. I enjoyed it even if the weather could have been warmer, how about you, have a good time?

I only managed to stay a couple of hours, my father-in-law had a heart attack so we had to rush back to MK, luckily I was sober enough to drive and he is doing ok now.

Awww, I hope he feels better soon.

Had my job interview yesterday. It went really well. Was phoned about an hour ago asking for a work trial on Tuesday :D

That's great news :)! I hope it goes well.

For my own news, it is possible I may be able to graduate in July-August after all. We'll have to see what the committee says. The professor is willing to do a good word for me, as is hopefully the study advisor. Since he's known me for quite some years, he knows I'm a hard-working committed student and will hopefully be positive about me too.

thank you! I hope you get to graduate. Would be a pain if you had to stay any longer than you really needed to.

I haven't been around lately as I went blind in one eye. The hospital have said it's an enlarged optic nerve and I have to wait and see how much sight I will get back. Fortunately I'm now over the worst of the headaches and I'm not going to let only having one working eye stop me from reading!
