Wish List Books

Recommended Posts

Who has a list of books that they want so if they pop into the library, tesco, charity shop or bargain book shop do they keep their eyes peeled for?

SO far the main ones for me are:

1. The book of lost things - John Connolly

2. The Black House - Stephen King & Peter Straub

3. The Talisman - Stephen King & Peter Straub

4. Mist over Avalon - Marion Bradley Zimmer

5. The Woman in Black - Susan Hill

I get a complete thrill when i get a wisk list boo for a bargain price

I carry a note book with books i want too in case i forget the authors too

My wish list is listed on my LibraryThing under the tag "To buy" - there are currently 25 books listed and I also have a seperate list of Stephen King books I would like which is listed under the tag "SK To buy" and I have 26 there. So that's a grand total of 51 books I would like! :sleeping-smiley-009

I then print a copy of my list of LibraryThing to take with me when I am shopping for books! :tong:

I look out for 'The Women's No 1 Detective Agency at charity shops as I'm not sure if I enjoy them enough to pay full price for them

Same here - wanted the set but didn't want to pay full price - I love the covers.

I have a note on my iPod that has a list of books I want. I've even priced them online so I can see whether I'll be getting them for a good price. Currently on the list are:

Slaughterhouse-Five - Kurt Vonnegut

Alias Grace - Margaret Atwood (there are other Atwood books I also want)

The Eyre Affair - Jasper Fforde (I also want the other Thursday Next books)

I, Robot - Isaac Asimov

Rebecca - Daphne du Maurier

Cold Comfort Farm - Stella Gibbons

Ulysses - James Joyce (probably won't get around to this for a while)

Crome Yellow - Aldous Huxley

We - Yevgeny Zamyatin

There are probably others that I've forgotten to put on there.
