That's enough lists for me, I think

I doubt very much that I'll read as many books in 2013 as I have in 2012. I am going to try a few different things (like epic poems :hide: ), and my big fantasy task this year is to finally have a go at Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. I also need to catch up with Jim Butcher's Dresden Files and Phil Rickman's Merrily Watkins series, as I've neglected them for a while. Plus there's Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey/Maturin books and John Steinbeck might get a look in, too. Oh hell, I think I'll just go with the flow :D

Happy reading in 2013 everyone!

p.s. Is tree books another word for series?

I don't know who came up with it, but it's just a way of differentiating between regular paper books and ebooks

oohh let me know when you planning to do this, I might as well :D

Okey-dokes  I'll probably start the first one some time in the next month . . . maybe :D

I have been putting it off for quite some time, cause I have so many other series to read so I kind of just want to start it. Think I will get the ebooks though, the paperbacks do look nice but I just don't have the room :(

I love that! Treebooks! What a lovely way to separate the two formats :D

Your TBR pile certainly is a mountain there Karsa. Some heavy duty reading to be done.

Happy reading 2013!

Thank you! And the same to you

Treebooks looks a nice, friendly word. I have previously seen them referred to as "dead tree editions" which made me feel a bit sad!

That is kind of horrid :giggle2:

Tell me about it! I've had the first two books for over a decade and never read them. If I do like them, I'll get the rest for Kindle - one mammoth fantasy series on the shelf is more than enough :D

Good luck with The Wheel of Time series, Steve! I've heard it's good, but it's far too daunting for me to take on. I will live (read?) vicariously through you. I also look forward to see what sci-fi/fantasy books you can talk Frankie into reading next year. ;)

 I shall put my thinking cap on. It doesn't get used much (before anyone else says it :P ) :giggle2:

May I join you two on the wheel of time series read?

No!

Only kidding :giggle2: Course you can  I'm not going to do it in a particularly structured way, myself, though. I'll read the first one and, if I like it, the second one will follow at some point when I feel like it (and I guess that depends upon how much I like the first one!)

Good luck with your reading in 2013, Steve. Can't say I've read many of the books on your TBR list, so looking forward to reading your reviews of them all! :D

Thanks, and to you :D

:giggle2: I always like to ask!

I haven't even got the first book yet, but I do have another further down the series on my shelf. I hear mixed things about his writing.

Yes, I've heard that, too. That's not the reason I haven't read it so far, though. When I was given the first two books, as a present, it was during a period where I didn't read much, if at all, so I barely even looked at them. When I started reading a lot again about four or five years ago it was mainly because of Erikson, who got me addicted, so the thought of reading another massive series so soon after Malazan was a bit off-putting. But I have to read WoT soon because I want to do another Malazan re-read and, if I start that, Jordan won't get a look in

Good luck with your 2013 reading, since I don't read fantasy (yet) I always enjoy reading your review.

Thanks Brian! <<starts concocting plan to get Brian to read fantasy>> :giggle2:

Good luck Karsa! I thought I had already commented but then realised I had not.

Cheers mate, and to you

I know the feeling. I look at my book series and feel sorry for my single novels because I know if I start a series, I won't stop till it ends! :giggle2: So I am going to try and adopted a new habit, for every book in a series, I will read a single novel before starting it - if that makes sense.
