The characters are so believable and the plot is truly gripping - I just had to keep reading to find out what happened next. It's terrifying to think how quickly society can break down in the wake of a disaster. This book makes you question human nature - do we behave well towards others because it is in our nature or simply because society contains institutions that punish bad behavior?
