I've read another 17 books since starting this thread, I was just going to add the books with the highest rating I have given to the list but thought instead I would look at my list and see which ones I remembered most fondly, and they are...

Torn by David Massey (a great YA about the realities of war, for fans of that particular genre, one I am trying to persuade my 13 year old to read!)

The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey

Home Front by Kristin Hannah

Ordinary Dogs by Eileen Battersby

A Dog's Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron

How's the reading year going for everyone?:readingtwo::smile:

Train to Budapest by Dacia Maraini - probably the most explosive ending in a book I've read in a long while.

I've had a few fantastic ones this year:

Earlier this year The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins simply blew my mind - really well done social commentary.

And more recently:

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn (best plot ever).

The Casual Vacancy by JK Rowling.

Wool by Hugh Howey (very good book, really gets one thinking).

I've just looked this one up on Amazon. It does look very good indeed and I have added it to my wishlist.
