  1. I'm searching for the title of this book. I have only read an excerpt of it (which I have attached). You can imagine how many Twilight/Count of Monte Christo references I've waded through - this book is neither of those. Characters include: Ryan, reinventing himself as an Italian man, Mr. Robert Lautner. Angela, becoming Lady Angelique Du Monte. Mr Taylor. Synopsis: Sweethearts Angela and Ryan make a promise to meet again after ten years, but when the time comes neither recognizes the other and both believe the other unfaithful. Angela remains in the only place Ryan might find her; becomes a governess-of-sorts to the Taylor family, and is given a title ("Lady") by a Countess (the Countess is the aunt of the girl she tutors). Meanwhile Ryan has become Mr Robert Lautner, who believes his old sweetheart "Angela" is married to Mr Taylor. He is enamored with Lady Angelique Du Monte (who is actually Angela). Neither is aware who the other really is. All this comes to a head when a letter directs "Angela" to trade herself for "Ryan", whom she believes has been kidnapped. This is a ploy by "Ryan" to meet "Angela" again. Thank you for reading~ Book Excerpt.rtf
