i read a book 30 + years ago about a big city usa detective who's son had been dragged down to the pits of life and had died at the hands of drug dealers, the detective then goes on a silent war against the drug dealers and kills them with no remorse, the reader sympathises with the detective. Asked this on many book forums without success anybody help or suggestions ?

I just wanted to pass this one on as this guy is total unknown...a friend of mine tweeted me about this novel as i'm from Edinburgh and its set near where i used to stay...i eventually got round to reading it (in a day which is unknown for me) I wouldnt put anyone of this absolute cracking read. These are the links to his blog below. I think hes below the radar. On a seperate note who else reads Scottish set crime novels and who are your fav authors in this genre?
