  1. The new book trailer for the final Infernal Devices book was released yesterday. Check out the Clockwork Princess book trailer by clicking the link below, is anyone a fan of this series? I predict young adults minds are going to melt and implode worldwide with excitement!
  2. You've known this since November! How on earth have I only just discovered this? What would you name the new book? My guess is something along the lines of 'Bridget's Baby Jones-Darcy.' It has to involve a baby, where else can Fielding go with it?
  3. I saw The Hobbit last week. I really enjoyed it, I'm glad it doesn't get too far into the book as I'm currently reading the hobbit. My colleague and I are contemplating having a read-off; we're going to read The Fellowship of the Ring at the same time and see who gets the furthest. Has anyone already read the first book, am I doomed?
  4. No physical books are also very nice, it's just that my nephew has a kobo which his life revolves around, so I'm probably going to get the 'but I have a kobo' speech after handing him a book on Christmas day. He'll read it nonetheless and that's all that matters, and all his other Diary of a Wimpy Kid books are hardback books.
  5. I'm currently finishing off Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams and Persuasion by Jane Austen, I made the terrible mistake of starting two books at the same time - massive error! My 2013 reading list is currently looking like this: Interview with the Vampire: Claudia's Story - Anne Rice Doctor Sleep - Stephen King (The sequel to The Shinning) It's going to be a painful wait until September! The World waits with breath that is baited! The Eyre Affair - Jasper Fforde (Oldie but a goodie, I think it was released in 2001) Grandville Bete Noire - Bryan Talbot ....AND... Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns - Lauren Weisberger (Sequel to The Devil Wears Prada) I really can't resist a sequel! I can't believe I've still not read The Hobbit so with the movie coming out this year it's a must, and I'm defintiely adding 1984 to my list! Does anyone have any other suggestions?
  6. A Memory of Light is coming out on 08/01/2013 I'm new to these books, I'm guessing you can't start at the end right? It's a wopping collection! I'm quite new to this genre so maybe I should start with something less daunting, any advice?
  7. I've got Persuasion to finish and Mansfield Park to read, I keep putting the latter off because I'm worried I won't like it. Has anyone read it and loved it? I need encouragement! Or I shall forever keep re-reading P&P, Emma and Northanger Abbey as they're my favourites.
  8. Great Expectations is definitely my favourite, I was intorduced to it after we studied it at school. It has a great story behind it too, Dickens wrote it in extracts which were submitted to a popular newspaper (I forget the name), in New York people queued at the docks to get their hands on a copy. When the final edition arrived people were so annoyed by the ending that Dickens actually changed it to the ending we all know now. It's like an ancient social media storm!
  9. I agree, I think they look great. It makes giving up physical books worth it - more room for shoes!
  10. I have a Kobo Touch so it has Wi-fi which makes it easy to download, I work for an online bookstore so that's where I get all my ebooks. I would give you the name but I don't think I'm allowed to here as it may be considered spam or advertising. All online bookstores are relitively easy to download from though.
  11. Puffin is the publisher so I looked on their site but I haven't contacted them directly. It just says it's not availble yet which suggests maybe it is going to be released in other formats, but apparently it's mostly large graphic pictures as you said, because it's originally a comic book so I'm not sure how they're going to release it any other way. I've found two places other than amazon that are selling it, but it's still only in kindle fire etc format. Oh well, I guess I'm buying him the book... He'll probably gasp in horror as though I've just stepped out of a time machine.
  12. I was really excited at the prospect of all 7 Diary of a Wimpy Kid books becoming available in eBook format as this is the perfect present for my nephew who has a kobo, only to find out the ebooks are only available on Kindle Fire, Kindle Fire HD and Kindle for Android. Does anyone have any other information on the ebook release or when it may be coming out on other devices? Fingers crossed it's before Christmas.
  13. That 70s Show, The West Wing, Friends and this last one may sound very junvenille and silly, but I really miss Super Ted. Seriously I miss it a lot!
  14. I bought a non-kindle e-reader for the same reason, I have a Kobo it's very user friendly and uses e-pub format it's really easy to download books onto them, I personally think they look better than most e-readers too, asthetics are important afterall.
