Just in time Deborah! I was looking for something new to read to my son, looked at the reviews on amazon and decided I'm buying it

I try not to have a TBR pile because like you said I feel the "pressure". I love finishing a book and knowing that I can go into Waterstones the next day and buy a new one! If a book has been in my TBR pile I just lose the excitement.

I love puffin books and will definitely take their suggestions into consideration

I agree with mono! I would def choose 'Pure' by Andrew Miller

I would strongly suggest Hunger Games. I read Twilight and loved it so Hunger Games was an interesting read for me

This story was soooooooo touching. I rented the film out after and was very very disappointed

Has he tried Diary of a Wimpy Kid or The Adventures of Travelling Piglet yet? My son LOVED these

I wasn't a big fan of the Harry Potter books to be honest. I read until half way through the 4th book and put it down... I don't know I just felt the story dragged a little
